I taught Dylan for a while before he left Aotearoa, I'd show him something that took me 2 weeks to learn and hed get it in 2 days! Worked real hard, deserves his success. 😊

The late great Buddy Rich stated on the Johnny Carson show that Dylan Elise was probably one of the best drummers he heard when Blood Sweat and Tears first started out

Quite flashy. No rhythm or beat, here- just flashiness. The technique is very impressive, even if it sounds like someone who'd been carrying a bunch of pots falling down the stairs.😉

Big man...small drums set low. Ideal. Just makes sense. So talented. Every drummer would want to do this. Then there's his stick tricks...at full speed. I just wonder why he doesn't build and play a symmetrically bi-lateral set with the hi-hat placed in the center of the set. The only guy I've seen come close to that is Danny Carey. Just makes your hands equally fast in the natural matched grip. Both hands become equally fast...if you can reverse them. Then, there are your feet, of course.

lol just learned this song on the drums and have been doin some sick improv. I’ve known ever since I first heard the song it was a VERY rhythmic song that has so many patterns and flows that connect beautifully. Unfortunately this showed up on my KZbin right after I felt good about my playing but damn this is 1000x better lol!😄
