50 yrs ago, we had a 1963 Electramatic. I learned to Waterski behind it. It pulled me out of the Water in a Slalom Ski when I was 14. Flywheel came off of it the first run in 74, after it had been tuned at the Dealer. Fortunately the Recoil Starter kept it from flying away. To its Right, sits a 72 Mercury 50hp. First year for the Blue Stripes, and the only yr with blue that had Kiekhaefer on the Faceplate

I had one when I was a kid. Dad bought it brand new. OMC 25 HP engine & a one piece molded Gates Rubber Company wide track. Flat out on hard pack snow: 32mph. It did a magnificent job breaking trail in deep snow, as long as you remembered 3 basic rules. #1 no long steep uphills (Not nearly enough power) #2 to turn in deep powder, just shift your weight and it'll bank like an airplane. #3 whatever you do, for heavens sake DON'T STOP. The structure is all sheet steel and once it buries in the deep powder, plan on being there for a LONG while digging out.
@MicahsMotors6 ай бұрын
Yep they are quite heavy, got my skee horse stuck in a ditch once and had one heck of a time getting it out it was fresh powder on top of some tracks left by a newer sled, ski caught and the track dug deep down, almost threw out my back!

I just bought and have been using a 1972 version, what’s you’re idle knob settings and cold start/choke procedure?
@MicahsMotors Жыл бұрын
Low speed 1 1/4 to 1 1/2, high speed 1 to 1 1/4 turns out after needle has been gently seated. I don’t run mine on choke for very long just till it’ll throttle down without dying, also make sure it warms up for a few minutes before going full throttle
