the base card is not affected by card effects, but there a card called left hand shark or something that if you use it to summon a Xyz monster it makes that Xyz monster not be destroyed by battle. piercing damage monsters are very powerful against this tactic. I run Dark magician and there was someone that ran this deck against me, got me down to 5 cards left. i drew an Eye of Timaus and summoned a Dark Cavalry (does piercing damage, and also gains 100 atk for every spell/trap in either GY or field. there was like 30 spells/traps in the gy and field combined lol. i had like 6200 attack and did 6k damage on first attack, he panicked and didnt know how to counter dark cavalry, because i also had eternal soul and dark magician dragon knight on the field so no spell or trap cards could be affected on my side. also both Dark Cav and Dark Mag Dragon knight are both treated as "Dark Magician" while on the field and graveyard so both of those monsters are protected by eternal souls ability that dark magicians cannot be affected by all card effects. they could only be destroyed by battle. which wasnt possible for him hahahahahahaha

well he did it wrong then, as if he used no card effects, cook would still be unaffected and therefore not negated by unicore

Rhongo is still incredibly powerful just because there are outs doesn't mean they are easy or even good. Plus a burn player won't make it to plat 1 lol

@@scoutbane1651 but u don't need to use burn deck only for climbing to plat 1 I've meet alot of plat 1 with weird deck tbh I think they didn't mind playing meme deck or even junk deck just for fun since they already reached the highest tier

Dealing with the player is sometimes if not more effective than dealing with the card

@@halodragonmaster This strategy also works in real life duels as well. As soon as your opponent summons something stupid, swing for their face directly. It's called negative reinforcement.
