I have the same mount. Finding a troller that fits through the hull is the hard part. I have to really lay mine down and fiddle with it to get it in.

Always slide the collar down to base and lock. Only takes a couple of seconds. Everyone that fishes on my boat knows this and I still watch them to make sure it’s locked.

Happened to me two days ago

I did the same thing but worse. Didn’t clip it in saw it start to slide threw it in neutral buddy reach for it threw in reverse. Still had to much momentum when it hit reverse bent the connecting rod on the power head. I had the boat 2 hrs and had to replace the entire power head. 9k mistake.

This happend to me it snapped the shaft ,, they sent me new one under warranty

You lost it because filming was more important than securing it or grabbing it.

Lowrance has a leg that stabilizes that. Tbh it isn't hard to rig up something that's homemade to keep it from slamming

No stabilizer and didn’t have the collar slid all the way down. Totally preventable.
