Watching the first ep of this last night. I like this "new Lestat" better than Tom Cruise. Stuart Townsend was the better actor for him but we'll see as the series progresses. it's a different adaptation for sure but I think it's pretty good so far.

Yes, they perfectly adapted him for TV to be a character that you genuinely like independent of his romance. Granted he still a messy sad boi just like Louis in the book but it’s easier to connect with him.

Does anyone speak fluent French? Im just wondering how close to normal french it is. Like if I were to learn English, it is more formal than English, and certainly American speakers, use. So im curious if there is any french slang in there perhaps from the time period.

My only problem with this show is that they made me fully hate lestat... When he is like the main character of the series, he's toxic and brutal like a bloodsucker gotta be but not that level of psycopath.. The rest of the show amazing ❤

That's how I like people to be. Stop labeling as most are on a spectrum anyway. Giving these labels up would be accepting love with the same sex is normal and moral. Keeping them just gives idiots a way to other you stereotype and comes from homophobic religion when they wanted to control oppress people esp women' to widen the birth rate for army's and empire.

I love how well Sam acts out Lestat. He's my favorite actor for the role now. 2:05 "And the carousel comes around again" is one of my favorite line deliveries.

I'd guess beating in sinq, erratically, or faster than normal. He's got a musical ear so he might hear a rythem and think of tempo/dancing. He's french and they word things.... more poetically in romance languages. But lestat is a brat so it just makes him extra.

I haven't seen the movie yet. My mom and I watched this season of it, I started reading the books. She saw the movie and said it was terrible. I'm trying to get her to watch it with me.
