Would have been nice if you did a detailed video instead of being all over the place with it. You’re showing the install from having an already existing backup camera not installing a brand new backup camera. You said that the rca cables coming from the back was standard issue which is 100 percent false! You don’t show the exact connection to the reverse lights. Waste of video in my opinion!

So at the end of the video when you had your truck running and you hear that ticking noise it sounds like two wrenches getting clocked together mine has that same noise what is that I've heard it's the CP3 pump and I've also heard that it's normal for the 6.7 to do that mine just started doing it.

Eating turbos isnt normal, its the oil system, your friend needs to really take a look at his oil circulation, get a manual oil pressure gauge (not a digital one) and run a line into the cab or to the hood so he can see the pressure in real time with a manual gauge, and he should get some AN line and build a custom oil feed line for his turbo, id bet either his oil pump isnt running at 100% or most likely his oil feed line to his turbo isnt big enough to properly feed turbos, its that or the wastegate/ blow off valve isnt working correctly but I'd bet a larger oil feed line will fix his turbo "eating" issue 💙 a lot of people will upgrade their turbo and not upgrade the feed line and most any upgrade to the turbo needs a larger feed line to properly deliver oil to the turbo, ecen the stock turbo benefits from a larger line. hope he gets it figured out because it shouldnt be eating turbos
@Cargill4502 ай бұрын
This turbo has been pretty solid sense we got it back on the truck, I think a lot of his trouble came from using remans from the parts stores but so far so good but I do agree with you if it happens again we will take a hard look at the oiling system.

Take the belt off and look st the pulleys and see which one looks like it has some rubber on it or is really shiny, then tske some sandpaper really any grit, and sand the pulley and the squeak will go away, also getting a good belt will help as well

I switched to the CAT 396-4596 oil filter because cat has better filtration and their filters are typically a better micron i believe the cummins cat filter is 2 micron and its works great. But i prefer to change my oil in normal intervals because i use a filter cutter and i check every oil filter to make sure there is nothing out of the ordinary and if there is then i can find the failing part before it takes out the engine😊 by cutting open your oil filter every time you change your oil, you can better catch issues before its catastrophic 💙 i change my oil every 3,500 miles to 4,000 it just depends on where i am when i hit 3,500😅 CAT 396-459 oil filter is a direct replacement for the mopar cummins oil filter that and hotshots oil has worked wonders for my street truck and my pulling truck which sees a lot of abuse😂❤

I wish someone would make a large touchscreen retrofit for the 3rd gens, i really love the 12" touchscreen in my 5th gen😊💙 I like the updated 4th gen console but I really like the "hidden" compartment under the middle seat i think it was a feature in the SLT trucks but i could be wrong. Both my 3rd gens are SLT so they have power outlets in the center consoles as well as the underseat storage under the fron middle seat I am thinking about a way to make the 4th gen top half of the console fit the 3rd gen bottom half😊
@bernhard85402 ай бұрын
Idk why after all these years, boost auto has yet to add puddle lights to their mirrors. I'd buy a set if they made them with the puddle light like the newer generations have along with all the other features these mirrors have. They have yet to also add electric tilt even though its super simple. I've been waiting for boost auto to have the electric tilt and puddle lights and then I'll be grabbing a set for both my 3rd gens. They make the newer tow mirrors with puddle lights so idk why they dont add it as a feature we can buy for our mirrors. I fabricated a bracket to go from 3rd gen to 4th gen so i could get the tow mirrors with hest and switchback marker light and puddle lights i also put a switch in and power the power tilt and power fold but i would gladly buy boost auto mirrors with all those features that fit my 3rd gens instead of having to use a retrofit bracket😅❤

Oil testing isn't a real look, sure that shows what's in the oil, but honestly you need to pull valve cover and oil pan and check bearings to see if you are achieving the same wear or if the bypass system is starving the engine of to much oil pressure causing excess wear.
@CL-gq3noАй бұрын
If there were additional wear, it would show up in the tests as higher levels of various metals. Based on the metal you can infer where the wear is happening. The bypass filter can't really restrict flow to the engine anyway because almost all of the oil (~95%) bypasses it (hence the name) and goes through the normal full flow filter. Even if the bypass filter clogged completely the oil flow would just go through the normal filter/path with slightly higher pressure.
