The fact that people are still trying to claim Bridget as trans even though they’re quite literally the worst forms of trans representation in fiction is absolutely puzzling. It’s like they don’t care about the integrity of the character or how mind numbingly fucked up their backstory is, they just want their existence validated and their ego inflated. It’s funny because before Bridget was retconned, their story was already very trans positive. They were forced into an identity as a young age, and years of conditioning and fear mongering essentially solidified their false identity as their new identity, and once they grew older they had to find their true self and reject the religious superstitions that had suppressed their true identity all these years. But now all of that doesn’t matter.

No, there was no fear mongering, her parents had her know she was a boy and was just pretending to be a girl in public, there was no conditioning and her parents not liking it WAS HER ENTIRE MOTIVATION TO TRY TO GET RID OF THE SUPERSTITION, it wasn't religious, NOTHING in that rant was true.
