That's pretty cool! Idea: since it's E Ink, not even every sign needs a computer attached at all times, they could just have a connector for updating. Have y'all considered that?

the screen refresh really needs a major upgrade, maybe moving away from low end chips to possibly amd apu or mediatek 9300+ it would have been better to reset to full black first to stop the flickering as it resets the color array behind the black may make it better in the long run

Incredible stuff. Looking forward to the day when 4096 color eink displays are so common and cheap that they're adopted over traditional paper. I'd love to see the day when a permanent document is simply stored digitally and fed to a eink display when needed - having been stored after it was initially drawn up or signed from the eink display itself originally. I hope you guys are still working hard on this technology, it's already all over the place - keep up the good work!

Is Spectra 3100 limited to 4 colors (red, yellow, black and white) ? If not why are they no in the digital notebooks ? Is it because of the high price ?

E ink is the future of the display that does not hurts the eye. A high refresh rate display can soon replace a lot of display on our consumer devices.

All I want is a faster refresh rate with less ghosting. The second that happens, I'll buy the first smartphone and desktop monitor with that display.

They are not for replacing smartphone or TV displays. They serve use cases where the picture doesn't change for a while. For example reading books or digital billboards.

What is a reason why driver and circuit board are not integrated into the display unit? If so, it is very stylish and easy to connect to PC from USB port for the setup. Even though WIFI was optional😅
