I despise the leveling in HGSS. Especially since grinding is a must since the elite 4 is a complete jump in skill level compared to the rest of the game. Would make it hard for casual players who just want to make it to the end.

You can actually get shards from rock smash rocks. I recommend getting a red shard for a leppa berry, then save it for the berry pots. You'll have a possible renewable source of PP replenishment.
