I'd go for Mayo by about 6 points

Good insights on Kildare lads. Seamus being at the game helped as it's easy for others to slate this team without actually seeing them. People forget that Kildare are missing most of their forwards from last year that topped our own scoring charts. Ben McCormack, Neil Flynn, Jack Robinson, Jimmy Hyland, Paul Cribbin... all out.

Glenn never mentioned the music. Just sayin. Always seems to be the thing that people come back to but worth listening to his interview again.

Wicklow put it up to Kildare all the way to the 60th minute last year. Kildare tagged on scores near the end but we by no means hammered Wicklow.

Makes no difference whether Meath vs Dublin took place in Pairc Tailteann, Breffni Park, O'Moore Park or Brewster Park, the Dubs are different class regardless and nothing will change anytime soon.

That’s well known, but good lord how is it fair on meath fans? If Longford won it would have been at home for them so why not the same for Meath? I’d genuinely say I’ve seen more dubs complain about it in croker compared to pairc tailteann. Think about the cost to drive up to Dublin compared to stay in navan?

You mentioned the possibility/practicality of the GAA going to the Olympics in episode #110. I can't find the episode on youtube, so i'm commenting on this one. I think Ireland, America, Britain, Australia, Spain, France, and maybe Canada would be able to field teams. There are tons of clubs in Spain and France (obviously paling in comparison to Australia, Ireland, and America), and a moderate amount in Germany. That being said, only 10 nations regularly compete in curling at the Olympics, and it's not exactly a neck and neck fast paced sport. I think that Hurling and Football would have a lot of potential in the Olympics, and would be worth watching, but I doubt we'll ever see it. Great podcast, keep it up! Love from America!

@@gaelicstatsman I think Antrim will jump them on the final day. I always check what fixture they have last as that's when most teams go down. Clare literally have to go (to) Down and Antrim have Wicklow at home. Antrim seem a bit like the Monaghan of Div 3

Good analysis. I can't put my finger on a major element, but I think GAA football is on a downward tragectory based on the quality of play coupled with waning interest by fans. With that said, I think trying to determine who will do well in the league is going to be hard to gauge. It seems, in the interest of money-orientied-interests over the game itself, we are going to end up with a few elite counties and then just all the rest. Are the players in 'all the rest' really going to commit? I hope am wrong, but 2023 was clarifying. Hopefully, we'll get some good games to lift us all.

Take out the North Roscommon game and Brigids average score per match would be scored 15 and conceded 9 pretty much the same as Glen's average

If you lads truly believed in "equality" you would allocate 50 per cent of the shows discussion to the womens game. But you dont. Why?

Not enough knowledge there to fully go in depth. If we did, we'd probably say something wrong. LGFA and Camogie on the same times as the mens Quarter Finals last week being a prime example. We have covered it constantly on our socials in the past few months, plus match reports and stats in the past year or more
@yonderorphan7499
@yonderorphan7499 10 ай бұрын
@@gaelicstatsman yes but you choose not to have knowledge. You don't practice equality because you watch the men's game far more than you do the women's game. Like the vast majority of people. I'm not having a go. Just this virtue signalling can be a bit grating at times when people don't practice what they preach.

@@yonderorphan7499 have a look at mine and Seamus' Social Media, we try to promote their games as much as possible. Did you hear the part where I say people complain about us posting about LGFA and Camogie, but yet we still do it. You also have to take into account that both of us have jobs and are working during the whole week, so we don't have time to go through every single detail. We do our best though, remember that. Even the bits about Aisling Thompson's injury return and Mairead Eviston marking Denise Gaule, you wouldn't hear that any other Gaelic Games podcast (other than Seamus') talking about the 4 codes

@@yonderorphan7499it’s actually unbelievable that’d you’d somehow find a way to hate them for promoting ladies games, how is it their fault they know less when there’s less coverage, less articles written and less talk on social media? You saying something as dumb as that would probably put anyone off actually wanting to watch ladies games

I love gaelic games and played for years when I was younger , however the GAA as an organisation are totally removed from the grassroots of the game which is voluntary and recieve very little or no support from the GAA AS AN ORGANISATION. Nowadays GAA is an acronym for Greedy As Always.

You have to remember the way Joanne is, she tries to provoke people and at the end of the day shes not good at her job. I agree Donal Og came across arrogant and I wouldn’t be his biggest fan, but she brought up a football comment during a hurling segment. The sooner they get rid of her the better, and the majority of GAA fans think that. A fantastic presenter, dear god. With regard to your comments about limerick having a harder run you’re spot on. You know your hurling, good analysis
