you need to revisit surf kayaking with boats that are designed for that specific purpose. It will be an eye opener!

Chamberlain falls and nosestand have changed from back in the 80s. Nosestand was just a calm pool with a perfect funnel to slide up into. Pirouettes were the thing back then. Also, Chamberlain Falls on river left was much more vertical. I had a friend that back endoed into the face of the falls and had a brief fully underwater and upside down vertical entrapment there. I can't see how that would even be possible now.

Delightful 😀 I lived in Coloma/Lotus during the 80's and worked for a couple of rafting companies as well as the county, river management. I experienced fish flows to high water and it was the best decade of my life. This was a lovely trip with you on the South Fork. Thanks

You had 5-600cfs on the Kyburz gauge? Or you estimate that much on the silver fork itself?

That was the Kyburz gauge, but it can be pretty unreliable

so did it get any leaks??? i bought this exact raft for going in a lake to set markers for my rc boat races... seems great... but mine did not come with a patch kit...not what type of patch and glue to buy in case i get leaks...thanks for sharing

What time of the year would you recommend for catching both the Lower Lower and Middle at good flows? I am in Virginia and want to spend a week at the White Salmon next Summer hitting those two runs. Thanks!
