English cocker spaniels are meant to be trimmed not shaved on the back, that destroys their coat forever. Before anyone will start fighting back read and trust people who knows I have 2 cocker spaniels from best Italian FCI kennel.

I have for years been disgusted by the body structure of German Shepherd dogs in these top show rings. That sloped back and sharply angled back legs have never looked normal or healthy or even attractive, and that is the ONLY place you see GS dogs with that bone structure and body shape. WTF is wrong with the people in these show industries that they allow and AWARD animals in such terrible physical condition because a few people with too much money, time and influence decide they like a certain look so everyone starts breeding for it in order to WIN while the animals become more and more crippled? It's about time there is a public outcry....past due, actually!!

How often should I be trimming? My golden is a service dog, and cleaned weekly. I do all grooming myself, and this was very informative. Just unsure how often itll need to be done.

Realistically how much grooming do they require - and is their grooming really difficult ? ( asking as we have had Tibetan Terriers and certainly found them to require far more and at times really difficult grooming than most books or information videos ever suggested!! )

OMG I can't believe anyone would cut the beautiful feathers that make this breed of dog so beautiful. Their hair and double coat are the way they are for a reason. And if people want their coats cut short for shedding purposes, they're idiots. All they've done now, is shorten the length of the hair that has shed on their floors. Very sad. Get a short haired dog, or better yet, a hairless dog. This is so sad. Ruining the beauty of one of the most beautiful dog breeds ever. Shame on you.
