hi good evening here in the Philippines. I am an architecture student and I would be pleased to know this information for my thesis proposal. Is there any possibilities in the future that you will be going to branch out here in the Philippines to manufacture Allan Block Retaining Wall, or any thing of Allan Block? If there is, can you foresee when will it be possible? Say how many years?Thank you so much and your response is really a big help 🙏🙏 God bless❤️😇

You want to stay at least 3’ away from the face of the retaining wall with a machine compactor.

is it necessary for there to be wall rock behind the stones? Why did they show like 6 inches of wall rock behind each layer of the stone? Is that because its hollow stone? But solid wouldn't need this and could just use plain soil?
@MathCuriousity
@MathCuriousity 2 жыл бұрын
One other question: Why do you have to fill the stones with wall rock? Why isn't soil ok?

Won’t the weight of these blocks cause those pavers to heave over time and cause the wall to start tipping?

I have watched several of these videos. Why don't you need mortar? Seems like it wouldn't be very stable.
@allanblockwalls
@allanblockwalls 7 жыл бұрын
the blocks interlock together with the raised rings and the offset seams. If built correctly it can be very stable on its own. Most often the caps are glued down with concrete adhesive to add additional stability. In some applications it can be helpful to use concrete adhesive to glue some or all of the courses together if there is a concern of stability. you can learn more on our website at allanblock.com

Will this work with regular cinder blocks
@allanblockwalls
@allanblockwalls 7 жыл бұрын
you could build something similar with cinder blocks but it would need to be grouted together for stability. Allan Block does not need to be grouted.

We moved into a home 1 1/2 years ago another home was built next to our south wall. After they landscaped our wall separated from.the pillars. Can this be redone maybe they did not secure the wall to the pillar. It is a beautiful wall with built in flower beds. Any advice???

For the base, do you use clear crushed rock(like drainage rock, not pea gravel) or crushed rock with fines and powder. Does it matter?
@allanblockwalls
@allanblockwalls 9 жыл бұрын
alb12345672 we recommend using something we like to call wall rock. Wall Rock is compactible aggregate ranging in size from 0.25 in to 1.5 in. (6 mm to 38 mm) with no more than 10% fines. Used for base material, within block cores and behind the block. for more information visit our website at allanblock.com

why don't you show how to do this when you are building a retaining wall on a slope, which is where retaining walls are usually required. This example does not help at all
