Hell of a song, and a lot of nostalgia too, annoyingly, you couldn't leave it on the menu too long to hear the full song, it'd play some demo gameplay footage, quite rare you could listen to the whole thing in one go

Man, if the N64 was capable of this level of visual quality, it would've lasted a lot longer in the console wars during the early to late '90s into the early '00s; even with the Dreamcast, PS2, OG Xbox, and Gamecube. Really interesting if that turned out for N64.

Relevant settings: Set upscaling to your desktop resolution. Enable bilinear filtering. Enable Scaled dithering. Set downsampling to "Box" 1X (not the 2D only option). PGXP Geometry, Culling and Perspective Texture correction set to on. I'm using the Maximus CRT filter in retroarch. This can also be done in the stand alone Duckstation emulator of course, but I don't think the shader support is as nice as Retroarch.

And I used to think this was high tech. Also amazing how wrong we were about the stealth fighter. By this time I had replaced my 286 with is 20Meg HDD with a 486 and a 16" monitor. The programmers at work were jealous and said so.
@wabbit2346 ай бұрын
I don't think there were many people that could've afforded a 486 in '89. What a baller. We didn't get one until like '95, which doesn't seem like such a great span of time now, but was an eternity in computer years back then.

While your statement may be true or may not be what is your point? The facts are, these DIGITIAL AIRCRAFT ARE APPEARING ON YOUR MONITOR BY TECHNOLOGY THAT IS NOT IMPACTED "BY THE LAWS OF NATURE"...Meaning, these aircraft are not flying...it's literal code...lines and lines of code....there are no aerodynamic parameters or physics to consider...these images could appear to stop...point straight downward..nose down and begin spinning....do a few cart-wheels...disappear then reappear elsewhere...Not sure if DCS has a SLEW mode but have seen enough of a certain MSFS content creator that was actually enjoyable to watch and funny before MSFS2020 was released and he became too serious...primarily because there were no Hot Air Balloons ascending vertically at Mach 1.5 (aka, Space Shuttle Mode)....I'm sure most know who I am referring to (AirforceProud95 or something like that)....ANyway, it seems when you are lead in your squadron and or you "key/order" your AI Wingman or your entire squadron to follow you then ED has coded the AI to mirror your movements within specific parameters and criteria as not to make things seem too "stiff" or not natural...Of course, if someone begins to enter inputs that alters specific pixels to illuminate and or the image to appear to change direction....there are no laws of physics or anything else beyond that of the technology producing and rendering the images....I realize I should change my screen name to Capt Obvious after my rambling but, respectfully, I don't follow your objective beyond showing the AI doesn;t mirror a real player in a way that is reflective of what it purports to emulate...I have no doubt they can revisit and figure out the ode to resolve this issue....it's a question of if it's disruptive enough to justify allocating resources to improve that issue... ps. I apologize in advance for my ignorance if I'm missing the obvious... the obvious IMO is rather revealing but not certain warrants sirens, neon-lights and spotlights being shown on it....Anyway, still good to see and know that is possible if not probable ...particularly as a new player
