Hi bro . I am elson. I have done my BE in mechanical engineering from Ewit blore (2012 pass out) & mtech from uvce blore in 2015. After that I came dubai and working here as technical sales manager for thermal insulation products. M willing to do PhD. But will this 10 year gap be a problem? Plz guide

Hi Elson, when you say you want to apply for PhD, you should always apply to something related to your work or with same education background. Say if you have different education background and different work background then it depends on what's the longest experience you have, and that is what you have to choose. In this case it's your work. So any PhD positions relating to your work would be happy to provide you opportunities based on your skill set.

Really informative and motivating video. I got into a PhD program (also got multiple offers) successfully by following the instructions and guidance given and that too in the area of my interest and choice. Thanks Tribo Geek. Keep up the good work. Really suggest everyone to carefully watch this. What ever they say is 100% true the process was same for me. We just have to keep trying and sending emails to professors. You might not get reply and in my case some professors directly told me not to apply for the position but just keep applying and not get disheartened any one of the position might click. Follow everything as they say in the video. Also agreeing with what they say about having a good/qualifying ielts score before applying is also a plus it sets your profile apart from the crowd I felt that after giving my ielts I got more reply to emails than before and your chances will also increase. Be confident and honest in your interviews and know all the technical concepts. In some PhD applications (In my case) although there might be funding already and the project scope is also defined but they might still ask you to write a proposal just to check your writing skills and knowledge in the area so write a good piece for that in a good latex format. You don’t have to make a break through in that but just the research questions and the ways in which you would like to address it based on your literature survey.

Hi, I hope you did well in your board exams. Always choose what interests you and based on that you can develop varied skill sets and get jobs which pay high. Don't get into traps for engineering or medicine without any interest in those fields.
