Mahalo for the comment, although not sure if you enjoyed the slide show of images or not!? Thanks again, Thomas

Great photos. Brutal music.

Thanks for the comment and my apology for the music, but on it's simplistic level, I thought it was fitting as most birds will mate with the same partner for life, so "one love" seemed appropriate!?

Aloha Linda! Mahalo for taking the time to view my slide show and for commenting. Did you take in any of the centennial activities last week? Regards, Thomas

Living at the Lighthouse from 72-74 Loved the Pics. As for being near the volcano, we used to tell visitors that Kaua'i being the oldest island & Crater Hill being to the east, Hawaii STARTED here. Kileaua NO KA OI

Thanks for taking the time to view the images I captured and for commenting. Hope you make it to the Garden Island in the near future? Sometime early to mid-October is Refuge Week and there's numerous activities during that time including hikes up to Crater Hill (normally closed to public). The first Saturday in May is also Lighthouse Day and next may is the centennial celebration, so should be extra special and may also extend over days or longer. Mahalo!

Great memories, thanks. Love Kauai and the and the Lighthouse/wildlife refuge but haven't been there in almost ten years. I live on the Big Island.

The lighthouse is located at the tip of Kilauea town, so that is the reason behind the name. If you are into lighthouses, the centennial is coming up next year and the lighthouse is being restored for that occasion. BTW, many are familiar with the Kilauea volcano, but not the small town in Kauai! You won't believe how many times I am asked that! Mahalo!

Oh, NOW I remember. Thanks! Although, now I'm wondering why it's called the Kilauea Lighthouse if it's so far from the Kilauea Volcano.

Thanks for taking the time to view my slide show! The Kilauea lighthouse is located in Kauai, while the volcano is on the Big Island (aka as Hawaii island). If you are not familiar with the state of Hawaii, Kauai is at the north end of the island chain (furthest north you can be in the USA!), while the Big Island is on the opposite end. Hope you visit one day? Mahalo!

Is that lighthouse located anywhere near the volcano?
