Why up Bulli Pass and down Mount Ousley Rd instead of just continuing through the northern suburbs of Wollongong?

I totally love these ultra long drives, from morning to the evening. The road was good excepting the unpaved section, I was surprised how much it rained during the drive, expected a much drier region here in West Australia. One must really pay attention not to remain without gas or to to have some mechanical problems in these remote areas, very big distances between towns and gas stations. Thanks a lot for sharing such wonderful driving videos, greetings from a road-tripper from Germany!

Beautiful long drive, almost no traffic on the road after the first 1h in Perth and its suburbs. Must have been really relaxing to drive on the very good road, with long straight section, a full day of adventure in the remote areas of inland. I'm fascinated that this road between the two biggest cities is a 2 lane goat track for most of the way, but the road from Devonport to Burnie is a giant superhighway. There must have been some wild local politics.

Variable Speed Limit (rain): 4:56:02 From Urunga to Coffs Harbour used to be a "variable limit" where it was 110km/h unless raining in which case it was 80km/h. Thankfully removed in 2012.
