I went today and it looked nothing like this. It was a shit show. Lots of powder clumps making moguls and it narrows out a lot. Lots of steep parts as well, not as flat and chill.

It would seem better to have a water tank at each pump. That way you wouldn't need any central high pressure system.

Great video and well articulated as to the finite technology of snowmaking in the 21st century. The narrator has a vested interest in that local business, it's obvious, and he's a serious asset to Calabogie. Probably the best video on snowmaking in North America I have ever seen. Thank you.

Good job, guys. This is my first season at Edelweiss and it has exceeded my expectations. Great facility, the detachable lift is awesome, the slopes are long and one can combine them like a board game in infinite ways. It's not far from Gatineau, season passes are very affordable. It's the perfect balance.

Good video, thanks a lot. Well done with the investment to improving the slopes. I have been caressing the idea of getting a season pass for many years. Your mountain is certainly a regional icon. Soon. Vive l'Outaouais!

I remember when I went down that trail when I was 10 almost killed myself on that last drop because it was only ice 😅
@SlopeEdge
@SlopeEdge Жыл бұрын
It is pretty steep and a bit of a drop. About 10-15 years ago, it was not really groomed, so it was more of a cliff style drop and icy. Last year for example, it was groomed, and although a bit icy, much more manageable than in the past. The zig zags leading up to the final drop are a lot of fun. And there is a hidden glade (unofficial trail) that starts farther up and comes out just before the drop. (Never done it myself though)

Visited Mont Rigaud this week during spring break and it was a snowy grey day but very mild temperatures around -5C. It’s probably the reason why there wasn’t a lot of people and haven’t had to wait for the chair lift. I started to ski last year and it’s my 9th skiing days since I started. ...just to give you an idea of my level. The O’Keefe was more like a cross-crountry slope and it must be great for beginners. I wished I had discover this slope last year when I started. Now I prefer the Humpty Dumpty and I did at the end the Pepsi and it was great. Honnestly, the Pepsi is clategorized bleu but in most mount it will be probably be a green slope. It really a great mount for family with young childrens. My husband had skiing for more than 40 years and in order to follow our slow pace of biginner, he considering to start learning snowboarding. There always something to learn!

what are the best / easiest runs to start with for mont st marie?
@SlopeEdge
@SlopeEdge 2 жыл бұрын
The magic carpet at the base then Promenade by the Poma surface lift (located between both mountains) after that it becomes all intermediate and above so Bellevue on the main mountain would be probably the “easiest” at that point. We have a video up of that one for you to see. Serenade is another choice but has a few drops that would make it a bit more challenging than Bellevue. Hope this helps. You can also find more on SlopeEdge.com.

@@SlopeEdge yeah we dont need magic carpet but the other tips is nice. What about Yodel?
@RailFansCanada
@RailFansCanada 2 жыл бұрын
@@kalafka12 Typically Yodel would be the easiest trail down Vanier mountain at Mont Ste Marie, however recently it is left in an ungroomed state, so it would be more bumpy or difficult as a result. For that reason, Bellevue would be the best option on Vanier. After that Serenade is another good one but is a bit more difficult than Bellevue as there are a few drops along the way.

The lower part that is relatively flat and narrow and then goes under the chairlift before the final pitch is a Green, but the rest is a Blue. Overall it is generally the easiest way down from the summit to the base.
