I would add half inche of fabric to fold around top edge (same way as bottom part), I wouldn't use beads. Thank you for the video, you did give me idea how to repair my lamp shade.👍👍

Other options would be to use an old bucket instead of a carton. I have used a drip tray below the planter to save the bottom of the planter from getting wet.
