good looking boat and beautiful location. One of the tricks back in the day for the onroad speedrun guys trying to join the 100mph club was to put the esc in nimh mode what that does is leaves the esc gate valve for power flow wide open, with a car you could get a couple passes out of a 5000 mah lipo and still be above lvc threshold, a boat might be different but I would imagine you could get at least one pass without dipping below lvc, of course the esc in nimh mode would never register lvc so you would have to use caution or use an external battery lvc alarm.

Good vid, the layout on my alpha is different, it's considerably more forward than yours, I run a 1.4/62 & get 80-90km from mine with stock motor, 150amp esc, different rudder 4 2× water pickup(ruder 2 esc, maim 2 motor) 3 total, & runs cold. Will be getting a 65mm aiming at 100km/hr, then I will be happy !

You are getting there with the speed, needs lots of tinkering to get it to plane right. LOL the water over the top of the waders must have been bloody cold 🙂
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
Mal !!!! When that water went over the waders, it took my breath away lol. There’s a small area of the puddle that just gets deeper because the surface isn’t fully flat. One of the lads was actually filming me in the water but when he sent me the footage on WhatsApp, it wasn’t good enough quality to upload onto my video. I fully blame Tomas as he wanted me to do a little video of his upgraded boat and he decided to go for a run in the middle of me making my own video lol. So we were going to tinker with my boat further but got cut short. I had to go home because i was so cold. I have woke up this morning with a blocked nose and probably have a cold for a few days now lol. But it was good fun as always ha

Guys it's literally in the set up. Someone mentioned strut angle adjustment. (in this case raising it a couple of degrees) which was what I suggested last post. This may have a greater influence on the ride than trim tabs alone. Lastly COG. Rule of thumb used to be something like 28 to 30 % from the transom. Not written in stone, but a guide. Keep trying fellas.
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
Hello dude. Yes, one of the further adjustments that we intended to do today was alter the angle of the prop. I actually had a protractor with me to day to be able to set things up and not angles etc. however, the rear tabs will not go any higher now, they have hit the stops. We then noticed that the battery trays could be moved and hence tried this. But our next adjustment was going to be the prop angle, but unfortunately we got cut short because i had go fish Tomas bot out of the puddle and got a bit wet lol. I couldn’t carry on because i was freezing lol. My waders were that heavy with the weight of the water inside them that I couldn’t risk going back into the water to retrieve a boat, it was like wearing moon boots lol.
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
Tomas wanted me to make a little video of the mods that he has done with is Vector SR80 and he decided to do some runs whilst i was in the middle of doing my video. So i had go retrieve his boat a couple of times in the middle of making my own video and on the final occasion disaster struck and i got wet lol. He ran his boat into the reeds at the other end of the puddle twice. But on the last occasion, the area that he went into is slightly deeper than the rest of the puddle. The surface in that area dips down and that’s why i got wet. Most of the puddle is only about knee deep, that’s why we come here but there is the odd spot that gets much deeper.
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
But we will go back in the new year and try again !!!
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
Thank you for you comments and help, happy new year mate 🎉
@gillian917810 күн бұрын
Take the trim tabs up a touch more, you can also change the angle of the strut. Using a straight edge along the keel, angle the strut drive line up at the propeller end a bit. This will raise the front more & loosen the boat up more, ps cracking pair of legs Tibs lol.
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
Glad you like the legs 😂😂😂😂
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
We were cut short today because i got wet lol, when the water went down my waders it was that cold that it took my breath away lol. The trim tabs at the rear will not go any further up now, they have hit the stops. So the next we were going to play with, was the angle of the prop at the rear. The boat is still not lifting up enough. I know from our other speed runs with our boats that the boat is almost fully out of the water, but this boat is still much lower than these other boats. I actually took a protractor with me today to make to use for the prop angle and tabs angle. We will go back for a third run in the new year.
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
I was also a little disappointed with the new 60c batteries. The ESC went into limp mode and i was not expecting this with the new batteries. The manual for this boat states 40c plus so i was expecting the batteries to perform better. Bizzare as well is the fact that the boat is running so cool, everything is really low temperature which , when compared to our other boats is massively different. The other boats get far hotter when doing these speed runs.
@tiborvon9 күн бұрын
The box states 80kmh. Our best run today was 48mph which is 77kmh. So i recon if we can raise the boat a little more out of the water then we will hit the 80 kmh, which is what it says on the box. We will see !

Scuffing the bottom of the Hull with scotchbrite in the area where the boat sits in the water at speed can eke out another mph or two. It's an old racers tip, does seem to work. Aquacraft models used to suggest doing it.

The outrunnner motor is a 1300kv, boat is running ok for first run. It does need trimming out a bit for more speed, as the boat is running a bit to much bow down & running to wet at full throttle. Try adjusting the trim tabs up a bit, you can also adjust the drive angle of the strut angled up a degree or two at the propeller end of the strut. These adjustments will raise the front of the boat up, helping the hull run looser out of the water more for more speed. CG (center of gravity is also very important on boats), good starting point for CG on a Deep V mono is 33% in from the rear of the transom, in the case of the Alpha starting point for cg is around 310mm forward of the rear of the hull.
