Honestly in my opinion it’s very poorly executed. I have been installing putting greens over 12 years , and it’s not how you do it. It might work for a little bit, but it won’t last

Thank you for this video Dan! Can I put anything on top of sand, such as road base and then 3/8 with fines? Or do I have to remove the sand no matter what?

I agree with others here that this "review" was Lame and dishonest, I just might get the first brand and put it on carpet and move my feet around until I can take that yee haw shot, LOL, Or I may set it up properly and give it a Honest review. Hey, Here is a thought, put that mat on carpet might be fun at parties, just make sure alcohol is included, And make up your own rules!( I just may put a patent on this LOL,) I may go with the Birdie Ball green just because of this video unless something else comes along.

The first putting green. Is by birdie golf.. he doesn't even have all the side bumpers on. The one he has on is upside down. I own the birdie putting green and it is a great for practice and true roll.. wish the review wasn't so biased lol

Good god. Go to your local carpet wholesale store. Ask for some old carpet. Use some towels to insert on edges to emulate some brake. Don't use auto returners. You want to practice setting up to the ball and also don't endlessly do the same putt.

Overall it was a good review and your greens look good, but that was pretty sneaky (little misleading) how you used that first green on the carpet to make it look more like it doesn't lay flat and ball moves when placing putter behind it.

Terrible Review! Why didn't you put YOUR GREEN on the carpet like you did the first green? Why didn't you put the rubber bumpers on the first green? Could it be because that's what helps it lay flat after being rolled up? Your biased product review is by far the worst, most misleading, and just flat out inaccurate review I've ever watched! Not to mention that it's a terrible look for your company! If you want to prove you have the best product, do it the right way! Don't do it by misusing the competitors product just to make yours look "superior". For example, Don't put the birdie ball green on the carpet to show it's "cons" and then not put your product on the carpet to compare! I actually have your product and I've had nothing but issues with it and customer service was terrible to the point to where I gave up. I think your product is good, but I can't really tell because it's not laying flat and part of the backing was deteriorated straight out of packaging. Bad way of doing business

@@ethanrosenthal8135Everything about then review is terrible! Like I stated in my first comment, I have this green but it was all jacked up when I got it, which happens, but they haven't done anything to help me out. I do know the geen is pretty good because a local shop has it. I just don't agree with doing an unfair and inaccurate review that makes other products look like s**t.

I've had the 9x15 for about four and a half years now. This thing is bullet proof. It sits in my basement. The kids play on it, my Vizslas play-fight on it, and I actually hit irons off of it into an impact screen as if it was a driving range hitting mat. It is literally as good as the day it was delivered. Not one flaw in the surface, which is ridiculous given how it's been used. The only thing I've broken (multiple times) are the plastic flag poles from the star ball cups, but if you pull out the broken piece you can just insert the remainder of the pole back into the cup. One thing I don't see mentioned here is that the greens will accept chips or flops and will actually check similar to a real green. Since I've had it I've probably used mine more for chip and flop practice than putting. This feature needs to be advertised more. Ridiculously good quality for the money. Don't think it's like the putting greens you see installed in the putting sections of golfing stores... the quality and the depth of the pile is way better than those. I don't use all of the holes. I knew I'd only use it in one direction, so I only have two of the holes popped out. The others (which are 75% pre-cut) are completely unnoticeable.

Would be great to do an install video for outdoor with dug in cups, and maybe show some examples of greens installed outdoors with cups. It seems that install is much less complicated and involved than other outdoor greens, like Bella, that require ground to be dug out, several base layers including drainage gravel, road base and then crush. As I understand, the Starpro greens are not supposed to be dug out and no drainage gravel is put in, only 2" of crush base over level ground, a bit domed in the center. I don't understand how you get back to zero at the edges (so that the green isn't sitting up above the ground) unless there is no crush base by the time you get to the perimeter. I am very curious to see how that installs. I will just be playing it by ear and hoping for the best. It would be great to see an example first!!! And can/should they be sanded??? Would love to see that done also. Will probably be too late for me, as my 9 x 15 green is already out in back waiting to be installed :-) But for the next golfer! THX !!

Buyer beware. My 15x28 green never "relaxed". Bumps over the majority of the surface which influences ball roll. I've tried everything suggested to fix the problem but after months its obvious that there is a defect in the product I received. Company is very difficult to deal with when you have an issue. They, meaning Dan, like to point the finger at the customer for why the product is defective. Very disappointed, I had high hopes for this product and was very excited at the beginning.

"Buyer beware" of false reviews. The green was delivered in perfect condition not defective in any way. The buyer admitted he ignored the base instillation instructions and ended up with a damaged green. We tried to work with him on a fix but he did not want to "mess with it any more". We are not paying for his negligence and you can't help someone that won't help themselves. Dan Selton

Consulted with Dan the whole way. This has been going on since Late June. First stone used was a 3/8" without fines. The green was never put on this base because immediately after the excavating company I hired to put in down was done I wanked on it and it moved under foot. Contacted Dan and he said the material needed to have "fines" in it. Dan was the original one that told me which stone to use after the ones listed in the instructions were not the same as the names of the stone available in my area. I rehired the excavating company to put a 1" top layer of the stone with Fines in it two days after the first base was installed. Dan your reply speaks volumes to your character. I have pictures and have documented the whole process. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I would be happy to help make sure no one else ends up in this situation. I will gladly provide paid invoices for all stone purchased and the invoices for the excavating company that I hired to install the base. You will see it was within two days of each other and the stone is exactly as described.

Dan, This is only detrimental to you but I will be happy to lay out my whole case online in a public forum for all to see. I can post all our text correspondence, invoices, call logs and pictures. From July to October you kept telling me the green will relax it just takes time. Why would this be your position if I had installed the wrong base. Your position from the beginning should of been that but instead the first mention of the base being the culprit was on our recorded phone call on 1/2/2018.
