Never volunteer for any church.
@OakGroveChurch9 ай бұрын
While I agree with your theory in general, this has not been our experience. We have a benevolence ministry where we help needy people with food, gas and sometimes larger expenses (rent, car repairs, etc.). This has NOT translated into people attending through this "meeting of needs". We have found that people talk about how our church provides for them, so all their friends come with their hands out, but not a single person has begun attending as a result of this ministry that specifically meets physical needs. That doesn't mean we stop doing it, but this theory doesn't always play out as one might expect. Perhaps it would work better with meeting needs that are not financial in nature.
@clickmill9 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks so much for your thoughtful response! It sounds like you and your ministry team are really doing some awesome work in your community and are meeting some powerful needs. There is a second part to the concept in this video about meeting needs which is about creating Biblical incentive structures withing churches. Jesus doesn't just meet needs. He meets needs and then calls his audience to action so they can then get what truly matters. In doing so he requires something of his audience before they receive the next greatest thing he has for them. Some passages where you see this are, "Go and sell all your possessions to the poor, then come follow me.", "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men", " Let the dead bury their own dead". I have covered that in this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6izinatrbadmbs and would love to hear you feedback in the comments there! God bless

Are we talking about people on the church payroll or volunteers?
@clickmill10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! The answer is Both. Exhaustion, poor workplace boundaries and a lack of positive incentive structure will work against anyone. While getting paid is a positive incentive, people who are staff get burnt out at their place of work all the time. As a matter of fact, getting paid can actually lead to faster burnout when the pay is poor and the workload is high (which is the case for many pastors). This leads to feeling of being underappreciated and even being taken advantage of. Volunteers on the other hand work just as much as pastors at their own jobs, but then feel obligated to work (volunteer) at church in addition to their day job. The reason given in many churches we have consulted with ultimately boils down to something like "It's you duty to the lord to volunteer". Without proper incentives this leads to resentment and burnout as well. You can resolve these issues. For example, our interns over here at Clickmill commit a minimum of 500 hours of work and education to our 6 month internship programs. They put in anywhere between 20-40 hours a week and they are EXCITED to do it. Not only this, but when their 6 month internship is over, many of them choose to stay longer (a full year in some cases) because they feel inspired and excited because they feel they get more than it takes. We get applications almost everyday into our internship program because the incentives are properly balanced. You can see how we structured our incentives at the internship link: clickmill.co/christian-marketing-internships/

Do you think local churches could be a good option to sell your SEO services to?
@clickmill Жыл бұрын
Hey there, it depends on what you mean by sell. One on hand, local churches need local SEO services more than most as they are typically far behind the curve when it comes to their marketing efforts and they should therefor be buying as professionally done SEO strategies would absolutely help them grow. On the other it can be very difficult to sell marketing services to church for a number of reasons. 1. They don't understand digital marketing (they were trained to interpret the bible, not run a business) so as a general rule and are hesitant to put church funds to something techy that they don't understand well. 2. Church also move SUPER slow when it comes to doing any thing. Where a business would throw a wad of cash at you and say do it and show me the result, church leaders will need to meet with the board, meet with the ministry team, have multiple calls with you to better understand "SEO" is , etc. So you can usually expect a church to sign up somewhere after 6 months and up to a year and a half. My advice, if God has called you to work with ministries, then the church needs as many committed and gifted marketers as we can get. The calling will help you persevere when you aren't seeing the growth because you are more focused on eternal reward rather than short term financial reward. If you just want to run a profitable business and you not called to work with churches, you will grow a business faster in a for profit industry. I have had a number of good friends stop working with churches and their agencies took off once they shifted to for-profit sectors.

Sales Strategy 101: Build rapport. Christians today don't get that this isn't 1953. Folks are much more wary today. And communities are much more anonymous than they were then. You can't just come up to someone and "gain trust" anymore. Today, earning people's trust enough to begin speaking of intimate, personal things like "You're a sinner. We all are sinners" isn't going to happen in a minute. If you're not my best friend, that ain't gonna happen at all, in all reality. What you're ACTUALLY looking for (ask any honest LDS returned missionary) is a vulnerability. You want to find out if they're still grieving their father's death or their mother's alcoholism. You want to find out how they 're struggling so you can utilize that. The kid on the playground who says "Me be your bes' friend" to get a turn with the toy truck does a better job at rapport than Christians. You can't pry the stench of sales-y-ness off your "evangelism."

Brett, I hope church leadership appreciates the opportunity. As our communities crumble, the church has an opportunity to stand up as a solution to toxic public schools; teens without purpose; and fatherless households. The world needs more leaders. That starts with quality church groups and volunteers.

What local SEO optimization advice do you have for a church who meets in an elementary school?
@clickmill Жыл бұрын
Hey Katy, I would recommend targeting your website, your Google business profile, yelp profile (and any other online directories you have a profile on) to the address of the elementary school if possible. It's fine if you use the address of the elementary school - the main thing Google is looking for is that your NAPS (name, address, phone number) is the same across platforms. If you are showing different NAPS across platforms, Google will demote your SEO score because they dont want their users to have a poor experience when they go to the wrong one. If you move from the elementary school, just be sure to update all the platforms and profiles with the new address.

Curious as you set up local to 100 hundred miles. However, won't that make it so that your click through rate will be well below 5% and then get your account blocked? Since the click through rate will be well below that threshold.
@clickmill Жыл бұрын
As long as your 30 day account average is above 5% you won't be blocked, even if one campaign is lower.

If you are spending the full grant, it's unlikely a 100-mile radius spend will affect the grant that much.

Hi there, thanks so much for the video. I've recently created a Google Ad Grant account, but when I make a search campaign and then continue on, under the "Network" section both Search Networks and Display Networks are automatically checked and won't let me uncheck them. Have you encountered this before? Do you know what to do? Thanks again for the video!
@clickmill2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend you do a few things. 1. Make sure you have create a "search" campaign. The fact that there is a "search network" box makes me think it is NOT a search campaign because all search campaigns automatically run in the "search network". You can ONLY run search campaigns with your google grant account so if you have any other campaing type selected, it will either not show any ads or Google will deactivate your account. 2. Make sure the account you are using DOES NOT have any payment information in the account. Go to Tools --> Billing to see payment information. Also make sure the account is not requesting any payment information. If the account has or requests payment information, it is NOT a Google Grant account. People accidently spend lots of money under the assumption they are logged into their google grant account but it is actually a paid account. The google grant will NOT let you run ads in the display network so you have set something up incorrectly if it is not letting you uncheck the display network box. Thanks for your comment. Best of luck!

Hey there! Super helpful. When I am setting up the first parts of the campaign for Leads (website visits), should I put the client's website homepage or the specific page they want to be targeted? Thanks!
@clickmill3 жыл бұрын
Hey there David, Google Ad campaigns will often have multiple ad groups. If done correctly, each ad group will have a keyword-targeted landing page. If you have 10 ad groups you may end up having 10 different landing pages as well. This means you would typically just add the website home page for the campaign. (You could ad the specific landing page if you were only advertising one ad group within the campaign.) Hope that helps! Thanks for the great questions and reach out with any more you have in the future!

You fail to mention the entire back end needed (and cost) to support the live video up to the point of putting it onto Church Online Platform. While this platform is free to signup for, there is a lot of cost involved in getting the video feed up to the point of sending it out to them. I feel that you didn't make that clear and your title is misleading to others who think they can just buy a camera and throw up video for no cost.
@clickmill4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kyle, thanks for your comment. The video was not intended to focus on the cost of live-streaming services. The platform itself is 100% free to use for churches which is accurate. Given the coronavirus situation, churches are looking for programs they can set up quickly. For churches who do not already have live streaming set up, there really isn't enough time or attention to get this moving by the weekend. Most churches that don't already have live stream capabilities are just pre-filming a service during the week, uploading it to KZbin and then adding the link into the platform itself. This is also free. Pre-filmed Church services will appear as if they are live and can be used for multiple services. While I agree that there are extenuating fees associated with setting up live streams, churches trying to move online right now are focused on the minimum necessary to get something up and running. The time constraints are excluding live stream, at least for the time being for many churches. Thanks again for your comment.
