To reiterate, people need to learn to pump and reel. That is how you get enough power or leverage to bring in a fish that is too large for your tackle....not even that, even with fish well within the range of what your tackle is able to bring in. It's just good form.

@tommodesitt46997 күн бұрын
Matthew, I know you said your OK with the handle, but I wanted to mention to the viewers that the handle and nut I sent was for the next variation of the model 33. When I first saw your reel, I couldn't see where it said Trilene XL fishing line. The next variation 33 only said Trilene fishing line on the front cover and I thought that is the one you had. The earlier flat knob handle should have been the correct one for the Trilene XL reel. The nut is for the next model 33 as well. If someone buys the reel for their collection, I just wanted them to know the difference. If they purchase it to use, that handle will work fine and bring in the fish! I enjoyed your video as always and I'm always watching for the next one!

Got the kit today(11-23-24)😊. Went straight to work on my 808 Saltwater. It’s got two pickup pins, with the more complex arms behind the spinner head. I had two plastic bushings and (surprisingly) already has shielded bearings on the pinion shaft. I only had difficulty putting the clip back in…this particular 808 has the long end of the clip up top…and I couldn’t see the anti-reverse pall that was not between the v-shape formed by the anti-reverse lever. Once I had that in correctly, it was a done deal😊. It’s been greased properly and is ready for catfishing next year. Thank you.

Hi, Matthew. I've been scouring the internet for info on my first reel, back in 1972, a South Bend Model 25. I bought a used one on ebay last month, out of sentimental reasons. The reel works, but the push button won't stay. If you release it, the button comes back. I'm thinking it is a clone of the Zebco 202. Just looking at this service on the 202, it just might be the one.

It sounds like you have some older reels? I suggest you hunt around the web and see if you can find schematics. Then contact Zebco and see if they have some old stock parts. Provide them with a part number. Then you can try Zebco Shop and Swap on Facebook (facebook.com/groups/387880111984612).
