The odyssey rifle is quite literally the best weapon in BYOC. I play AVGN just to use it.

AVGN is so underrated in byoc, it's just too fun and powerful when you play it (you'll die laughing when you play it for the first time)

I (aka Stupid Rat) am hosting that complex byoc server without the LCA addon and 40-50% damage factor, which I think makes it only slightly harder than malefactors. I just like that complex has more monster variety and its sprite animations are much more fluid than most other monster packs. OTOH trollface is a pretty very class indeed.

Honestly, BYOC Multiplayer is the only way to make Complex DOOM actually enjoyable

You can tell which mode you are in by looking at the crossbow sprite itself, but yeah I agree some text popup would be nicer.

Turns out the hat thing is because the Jester Sombrero hat is glitched and makes it so no other hat shows up until you respawn Also, whatcha gonna do with that Doctor Kyuteru screenshot? :p

oh hey, there's me! I'm using a crusty Window's 7 computer to play at the moment, so I was very vulnerable to getting perma-lag spikes due to lag.

another thing I noticed...even the magnum deals a surprisingly decent amount of damage. it seems that Postal Dude's whole gimmick is that he's good at shredding through single targets, especially those with high health, but his lack of special weapon properties and abilities leaves him as vulnerable to taking heavy damage and dying easily as Doomguy is if he isn't careful. he's kinda similar to Marco Rossi in that regard, Postal Dude fills a similar role with different weaponry and better ammo consumption.

it seems like one of Postal Dude's main draws is that his Super Shotgun is considerably more efficient than others, especially compared to the normal Doomguy's, and is able to dispose of much tougher and farther targets more quickly due to firing four shells at once instead of one, but that's where the main drawback comes from as well, since both it and the machine gun chew through ammo quickly. another interesting quirk is that the Holy Hand Grenade Launcher seems to dish out about similar DPS as the quad barrel, and since it consumes only one rocket per grenade as opposed to the quad shotgun's four shells, this actually allows either to be used interchangeably for bulkier threats. the cow's head is also interesting, dealing DPS in an area instead of an immediate burst of damage. I assume to make up for Postal Dude's lack of area control apart from the machine gun otherwise, as maps made specifically for multiplayer and especially BYOC specifically tend to have stronger threats in much higher numbers, so having an area where weak to medium strength enemies will drop dead upon entering it must be useful for thinning out crowds.

Summoner's biggest issue was the lack of proactive gameplay. Everything had to be done by inconsistent friendly monsters. This is the basis on why megaman sprite can punch his summons to interact with them and actively play the game

Are those 2.0 multiplayer servers private by any chance? Days ago I've tried joining one with players in Doomseeker yet I end up in single player

I got sleep deprived and did this in a day. Got some help with many assets in my degenerate adventure too.

Always trying to find new stuff to introduce. Still got some consistency to get fixed before other classes can do this too. Also wondering how you found out about the sneaky input.

Woah! This gameplay has installed the Versatil Factions Monsters mod! Although it is not finished yet, They missed the replacements for Arachnotron, Mancubus, Arc-Vile, Cyberdemon, Spider Mastermind. (In the VF test map, a room is shown with a flag that the Arachnotron and Mancubus will be replaced by musical instruments and robots or golems soon) Also the coolest thing I can mention in this mod was that healing items and armor are replaced by so many amounts of food.
