The structure is not the problem, just put it together and run some self tapper screws in the joints. The tarp is the problem. Sunlight kills it pretty fast.

I'm not an expert, but I think this way is dangerous in the long run once the black tar builds up in there, I thought the pipe has to go in the stove

Pretty good idea. I just got an old Southern Pacific caboose potbelly stove from my grandpa that has the same oval outlet. I'll give this a shot.

I have the same problem. I'm not sure why you would need an end cap, maybe to winterize you cabin when you're not there. Our winter's arnt that severe in Australia, I hope my hardware have an end cap, or order one from the States.

You can install an end cap at a "T" in the chimney to use as a clean out. It depends what you burn and how hot as too how bad your chimney soots up. Good day mate! :)

I am looking at a stove of a different brand that has this oval outlet.. thankyoi for the insightful video that will now make this unit work stree free..

Take a piece of string go around the oval, mark it turn the oval string back into a circle then measure for exact pipe size. This isn't going to work long term. Use welded seam pipe not that crimp trash to make the oval. I have a small acme similar to this it's 5" pipe. Probably why you couldn't get a good fit.

GREAT video!! Thank you very much. I'm currently struggling finding the same fitting but mine is 8" long on the oval and about 5.5" wide. Everything I see online is over $100 for the fitting. I've already sent back the 1st attempt which was a 8"x8" oval to round for $50... when it arrived it was round to round.. Your idea is genius! I thought about making one but your end cap idea is AWESOME. Hopefully I can find one that's affordable. Thx again for the help

Nice video with some good info. However... the solar charge controller shown in the video (it's not the one that comes with the kit) is only a 30amp unit. You can check that on the HF site. The hub connector shown is only rated for 400 watts of PV. You can't hook up 6 or 8 kits.
