I would not use the term oasis any more. So many have come here that it not the oasis it was 10 years ago when I moved here full time. More traffic, more people, more restrictions but no more rain as the lake is now (11/24) about half full. Only one boat ramp open and it is not public. Some people are actually moving away from this 'Oasis'.

As of Nov 1 2024 there are no boat ramps open due to severe drought so boating, jet skiing is a problem right now. One good thing is that if the drought continues then there won't be summer crowds and noise. Seems like every year someone drowns in the lake. Also there is a big music complex venues around the area so traffic, congestion and noise can be an issue. One thing about the area is the abundance of wildlife- deer, fox, porcupine, raccoons, snakes, spiders, centipedes and I seen some big tarantulas too. If You don't want to miss a chance of hitting a deer with your car at night, come to Canyon Lake. The areas is gaining more development and population so it is losing some of its charm. Traffic is getting worse. Oh and the water supply is being challenged by the growth, so if you want your water and lawn like you had at your past home, get ready for water restrictions in the future. It use to be I could walk around my neighborhood and it was quiet. No so anymore, with traffic, construction, more people and barking dogs, I don't get the serenity Canyon Lake use to have.

Kind of reminds me of a detached 2 story townhouse. No shared walls is a good selling point along with a one car garage. Windows on the side walls too gives it a more open feeling. I have a 1100 sq ft two bedroom, two bathroom condo which is just the right size for me and everything is on one level which makes it just right for me at my age. 😊

I’ve grown to love this model and square footage. I just would change the shower layout and give more space for the shower. I would rather do a tiled open shower instead of that insert style shower. To give it that WOW factor because they have the space to do it I’ll lost toilet space for a more open shower at least in one bathroom. I’ll give up the washer and dryer and put a washer dryer combo under the staircase. Even tho I’ll make that my wine and liquor space. But the bathroom shower give me that’s the first thing I’m ripping out. The first thing. But other than that I love the space in this model verse 661sq ft. Even tho I still love that model cuz I’ wanna go tiny living but the 800 and something square ft feels more comfortable going Tiny but still have room comfortably. Love my Fav ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I miss what you young folks would call the old days. Me and my family used to picknick there since back in 1969. It was a great drive from San Antonio back then. Only a few businesses anywhere on 35 and even less on 281 back then. It was full of wildlife and very little development. My dad was military, so we always picnicked in those areas. It's been at least 15 years since I spent any time there except to check on some property I have. It's just gotten too crowded, and the water level seems to be at a very scary low. Glad yall love it, pray we get back to a normal level of rain in the future.

If guests need to use the restroom, they would have to go through the bedroom.

It’s good to have a bedroom and bath downstairs for older people. The staircase seems to block the flow of the upstairs bedroom and decreases versatility. Someone else mentioned the lack of closets on the 2nd floor, which can be put in later, but that will take up space in this smaller sized home. As for occupancy, I say no more than 3 people max. Good to have options though.

At these prices, you can expect that everything in the home is the cheapest quality possible. Expect to replace carpeting, some fixtures and cupboard doors within the first year. Also, your neighbors might not be that great.
