I used to fall asleep watching Toonami and would always wake up to this song playing at like2 or 3 am. I would be in that surreal hypnagogic state and it sounded amazing. I had this song stuck in my head for years and it is very strange when it is in a language you do not speak. The meaning of the song itself, however, has always been clear.

Does someone know the meaning of the real folk blues and why it is part of the lyrics?

Japanese like to use english words,,much like some westerners like to have japanese kanji tatooted on their body 😂 blues = sad, so its fiting here

This is one of those songs where you prefer to smoke cigarettes instead of weed.

There's good, there's bad and there's evil. A machine learning and an A.I. trying to learn from me? I feel more than flattered that you chose me to be your guide.
I finally finished the anime for the first time recently. I couldn’t bear to think about it for a long while after because it felt like the loss of Spike and seeing his eyes alive once more before he died penetrated my soul deeply. Throughout the show we’ve seen him either clowning or wallowing in his melancholy. In a twisted way, im glad he’s dead. He can finally rest in peace now.

I fell in love with Cowboy Bebop at only 12 years old. As little as I was, this sang to the sadness deep in gash of my own heart. I’m 35 now and I’ve started rewatching it. I still feel the same. The difference is that I now understand what I have mourned all my life: my innocence.

cowboy bebop just leaves this big feeling of emptiness behind which strangely also feels very heavy. i think it's very rare for other series to make one feel things which this show does
