Dave, I'm having a hard time finding if skidoo made a 2 up seat for this. Would you happen to know if they do with what part numbers are needed for the 2023 Ski-Doo x Summit 850 turbo expert 10.25 screen?

My Marlon is junk. Wiring not rated for cold weather. Rock guard rattled apart after 2 uses. And the tilt does not stay down. And you cannot load it solo. Highly regret buying this brand
@DaveNorona3 күн бұрын
Never had an issue with my wiring on my deck or trailer and I have one for snow and one for water, check your bolts as with anything if you using it on long trips or rough roads like me you have to check things, and if you load the front with more weight then it will prevent the tilt from working properly. These sound like issues of not looking after things so definitely hit up your dealer or those are easy to rectify.

Question, every now and then my clutch makes a clunk sound upon initial acceleration. I've heard multiple opinions as to why this is, but could you shed some light on this for me?

Excellent video, very helpful. I have a question, does the sled track need to be raised when adjusting to allow it to move or can it be sitting on the ground?
@DaveNorona7 күн бұрын
you want it on the ground and roll it back and forth to get the secondary to seat properly where it will when you move it forward
@jpaul45957 күн бұрын

Do you have any advice for loading into a Sierra 2500? You recommend strapping to the hitch? Also what is your configuration for strapping down your sled and loader during hauling?
@DaveNorona25 күн бұрын
there are pieces to prevent it from moving while loading then lift up and slide in with the wheels and use 2 tie downs to hold in, simple

I want one of these but I’ve been contemplating if I should go with the SP. do you think the X’s rebuildable shocks are the only standout differences between the two?
@DaveNorona25 күн бұрын
you can buy and summit adrenaline edge in season so that would be similar to the summit x, the only difference is the stamped boards ont he summit adrenaline over the more open boards on x, expert and freeride, hit your local dealer to compare price and advantages of each.

Thanks for the response. I just moved to Colorado full time and usually rent sleds few times per season. Now that I live in CO I’d like to own my own. Maybe by next season. Fingers crossed. Enjoy

Can you fit the 4 gallon tank and one of these bags on the 154? Thank you
@DaveNoronaАй бұрын
yes you can the stackable caddy is off set so it works with a bag, however if you use the big box tool box then it goes a bit behind the fuel tank and inhibits the fuel caddy from being one way so it does not fit, so it depends.

@DaveNoronaАй бұрын
Boat is away for winter, the 420 with 20 hp will move but i need two people to do it properly depending on the type of ground. The wheels work awesome but a loaded 420 with 115 pound motor ain't ultra light for one person. Height also matters!

Yes I agree, she has a commencal with a 7000 series and I can't keep up to her so she is disappointed in the power but off-road I think it will be good, for a bike like the powerplay being so powerful I was surprised their kids bike was de tuned so much, always tune it high as you can always turn it down.

I understand what you're saying here, makes a lot of sence, and this upgrade seems like an upgrade worth doing. However, I'm not understanding how some guys like you feel the t-motion and flex edge track are an easier more predictable sled to ride? I understand that should make it easier to get it on its side and initiate your lean and turning, but after that point I don't see it building confidence and holding its line as say a Polaris or the summit with an expert package that has no flex. I currently ride a 22 Arctic Cat Alpha 154, I don't really like it at all, it's too unpredictable to washy and does not build confidence. But yes it is easy to get on edge, but after that it's a very hard sled to ride. I've had a couple guys tell me that have ridden and own or owned an Arctic Cat like mine say it is somewhat similar to how the Ski-Doo handles with the flex edge and t-motion. They like the expert package better for predictability and the way it holds an edge once it's there with no washing out. I'm a fairly new Rider on this style of mountain sled and that may be part of the issue. But I can get on any of the newer Polaris and skidoos, with an expert package, and feel way more confident and have a way easier time making a sled go where I want to go. I've been both 154's tracks and 165 tracks and all of them seem to be way more predictable and precise than my Arctic cat. I'm wanting to get a different sled this year that's easier to ride that does what I wanted to do and is predictable. Any explanations or guidance an opinions on this matter from you would be greatly appreciated.
@DaveNorona2 ай бұрын
You say those skids are stiffer, they are rigid but riding both that is not the biggest difference, it is that the skis on ds 4 are further forward so they track better, but they are also harder to turn requiring more energy and they rake out making the turning not as good I find. Its funny when you talk about skids as Chris B on polaris says our skid is unpredictable and wonky, kind of what your saying, he uses the carbon c3 skid, have you ever flexed it? It has more flex in it then t-motion, which is funny. It comes down to learning the sled and how to have proper position on the sled. But people love to blame the tools. All sleds these days are beyond ability. So like the saying goes its a poor carpenter that blames the tools.

Why on my Ski doo with t-motion do I tend to have to turn my skis full counter steer while sidehilling across, to keep the nose down? On my polaris I can track my skis mostly straight while sidehilling across and the polaris doesn't want to turn up the mountain like the ski-doo.
@DaveNorona2 ай бұрын
you can improve the ski-doo in many ways to side hill better but then like a polaris you lose the playfullnees in say deep pow carves and other areas. I have no problem sidehilling my x like the expert , its about learning where to be on the sled and that changes as terrain and snow conditions change.

I have ridden with e-bikes. There is no comparison for work load. The old” we still have to pedal” quote always here is complete bunk. So terrible analogy bro. Ps cool bike!
@DaveNorona3 ай бұрын
If your riding with them on an amish bike then for sure their work load is way easier, but if you tried to ride with me you would be bye bye in about 10 seconds, work load can be different in many different forms, Also unless your red lining it at race pace of a world cup rider, which you are never doing, then you are not doing what you could on a bike so you yourself are just soft pedalling as you say. No one cares, what you are doing, so don't justify it, just ride what you like and have fun. You do 40% less muscular workout on an emtb which is why you can push harder and a higher cardio. If you don't believe that then you dont understand or believe intervals or motopacing works, two important aspects of becoming a fast racer.
