The other detail that set Laurel apart was her use of metallics. Both on fabric and on the card stock.

PS - I didn't even know who Lauren Burch was! I've definitely seen her art before, but didn't know her name. Thanks for teaching us!

Awesome! One of the reasons I love making these videos is because I learn sooo much. I have a whole new appreciation for famous (and not so famous) artists. Most of them have super interesting stories. And most of them have overcome hardships in their lives. Good stuff! Glad you guys are enjoying them : )

I can't find any information on what artist might have inspired her work. Does anyone know where I can find that information of were there no artists just her own inspiration.

Thanks for commenting LindieLee. I know that Laurel was greatly inspired by a trip she made to China. She learned about the technique, cloisonné. You can read more about her on her official website and possibly e-mail her family to find out more? www.laurelburch.com/about.html

This is very good. Thank you for taking the time to produce this video. I am sharing this with a large group of homeschool parents, as I introduce Magritte as the artist we study this week. I really like that you have included the artist's bio, teaching on his style, as well as a realistic art project that anyone can do!

+Stru School Thanks so much for the feedback. We really enjoy doing these projects at our school, and are happy to share the lessons with others. Check out all of the other videos as well. Plenty of project/artist ideas. : )
