As amazing as all these singers are, this is the most I've ever seen the baritone carry a tag tbh. Perfect volume relative to the group, great vowel match with everyone and an excellent lock with the bass, what more could you ask for?
@feretiuti25505 ай бұрын
I think it would be nice to add a couple more voices in there. From 0:42 (you can have someone keep the same note as the 2 while the other guy drops to the half one and then sliding to one while the other guy moves to 6. And maybe a soprano to hit the half 1 octave higher and sliding to a 1 while the high note guys hits the 5 and sustains.

@WBensburg2 жыл бұрын
This is 'the whole piece'. It's called a tag - guys who sing barbershop harmony enjoy the ends of songs (where a lot of interesting harmonies are added, sort of like 'dessert') so much that special endings are written just for this purpose. That's what this is, a tag. There ain't no more. :D
@rajneeshmilarepa60902 жыл бұрын
@@WBensburg omg! 😮 That makes sense now. Well then, someone should write the rest of the song, because it's so beautiful!! 🤣

wait, could it be, that Tony wasnt actually sure of how to sing tenor, and the guy on the left is kind of directing him, by giving him the beats and the Intervalls? that would be pretty cool

That sequence from 40 to 46 is amazing. I think Tony going from the 3rd to 5th and switching to a full voice on the 5th just puts it over the top. I don't hear any other tenors doing that with this tag on KZbin, but that little detail sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing this video.

There's all kinds of harmonics and subharmonics here :)))) awesome e.g.: - from 00:46 a subharmonic - octave below the bass (also at the final chord the subharmonic can be heard; a bit softer though) - at the final chord a harmonic : the 5th(as in high F) can be heard. etc

Barbershop music is some of the best chordal music out there. If you want to hear fantastic quartets, I suggest looking up Vocal Spectrum, Crossroads and Platinum. For choruses check out Westminster Chorus, Ambassadors of Harmony and Vocal Majority. Once you go down the rabbit hole, you may never come out as you find more and more amazing barbershop music.
