Visiting Kona today. I was listening to this song on the plane trip here, I've known about it for many years, when I first started playing for a living in the late 70's, it was in Kona, people would request it, but we hadn't learned it, so we would give them Kona Moon instead, lol. Just started with ukulele a couple of months ago on the mainland, so now, long retired, I am learning it at last. Not the easiest to sing for a man, will take real work, but so far nobody has told me to quiet down. Thanks for the beautiful explanation. Kona is all that the song says and aloha is abundant here. So happy to be back home again, even for just a little while. Beautiful song.
