The stand by stephen is one my favorites and I always recommend it. Just a fair warning..... it is long. It's in the thousands with the page count. Fairy Tale was also a really good one. Then any of the "Classics" like Pet Semetary, carrier, the shining, IT, and misery. ^_^

Funny story but I’m pretty sure Abby has talked about how the Happy Ever After Playlist is the first book she ever wrote. After writing it is when she thought Kristen’s story should be told first so she wrote the friendzone after finishing Slones book ☺️ Also I think Nadia cakes shows up in all her books I love Abby Jimenez books and can’t wait to read the next one ! 💕

I've not read any Abby Jimenez books yet. I'm tempted by the novellas to get me into AJ. I switch between thriller/police procedurals and romance. At the moment loving the Magnolia Falls series of Laura Pavlov. Also loved her Cottonwood Cove and Honey Mountain series. I have read all of Karen Rose's books up to the last one or two. I've struggled with the New Orleans series and although the books became a little samey over time, always multiple deaths/love interest/bad guy/girl caught at the end, I've always devoured them. I'm stuck on book two of New Orleans because I got confused over a character switching from his name to nickname with no explanation (that I could see) and a very minor typo - a character name without a capital letter! Karin Slaughter is a go-to read for me and I have only DNF'd one of her stand alones.

you’d love the novellas! let me know if you try her out 🥰

Abby is an auto-read for me for the fact that Happy Ever After Playlist, Life’s Too Short and Just for the Summer still lives in my brain after reading around 50+ romance books this year (yes 50+ of romances!). ❤ DNFd Friend Zome because I also did not like the emotional cheating. Highly recommend Tarah Dewitt for this type of video. Not the same style-ish but same heart tugging, gut wrenching, smile ear to ear feels ❤

I would recommend Green Mile, Misery, or The Dead Zone. All of these are significantly shorter than the book. You just read and each has elements of that book. Green Mile has the dramatic emotional element. Misery has the suspenseful element. And the dead zone has the character driven, romantic, and political elements. If you want, what Steven King is truly known, for which is hard, you might want to read Salems lot, it, pet Sematary, or Cujo.

Every time you said Jake, my brain filled in with “from State Farm” 😆🤣🤦🏼♀️ Great review!! Really enjoyed it. I’ve never read Stephen King… but maybe that should change soon! Not with this book though… if there’s a romance, it better end well, lol. I’d be curious for you to read Stephen King’s Fairytale. I keep thinking about picking it up, so that’d be awesome if you could tell me if I should or not! ❤

I'm sorry but I think she's misapplying the word "smut" here. The book she's describing is "romance" if you have to wait 700 pages before you get to the sex scene.
@MadiCovington25 күн бұрын
we can all learn something new today: the definition of smut (in the bookish context) is actually just “A story, usually a book or a fan fiction, that includes one or more sexually explicit scenes.” an “erotic” book would have the WHOLE plot based around the “smut” - when usually “smut” is just a different word for “s*x” so, even if a book has 700 pages & 1 smutty scene, it still classifies as smut.
