Kiana, you’re not wrong. I’ve had the privilege of working from your same position. But here’s the cap. The imposter syndrome you’re describing, that has nothing to do with race and EVERYTHING to do with your current position. Insert anyone into that role and they should feel that way. How would anyone feel easy in that role if they didn’t have the same luxuries and challenges? But more importantly, show me one person who does have the same luxuries and challenges in that role and I’ll be the cap.

I really enjoyed this conversation. I’m in the application cycle for 2025 and i am considering real estate law. I’ve worked in some facet of residential and CRE for the past almost 10 years and I’ve learned so much about the background of building, development and ownership. I Would love to hear more about that.

Angel! Thank you again for inviting me to Sisters in Law. I’m so proud of the platform that you two have built to demystify the practice of law. One comment about the interview - during the playback, I noticed how many times I stated that the naysayers were right. This conversation made me realize that that’s not entirely true. All they did was point out how unlikely it was for me to succeed in this arena because it had never been done before. But, God had the final say. 👏🏾🙌🏾 Thank you for the opportunity to revisit - and more importantly - reframe this part of my journey.

Wow your story is so inspiring! I’m currently a paralegal at a probate/estate planning law firm (I’m the only Black person), and I’m preparing to apply to law school. I love this field of law and wish more Black people knew how to protect their assets so they don’t end up draining what is often a small family fortune that they have with probate and attorney fees. I have been looking for a Black woman mentor in this field because it’s so much gatekeeping like you mentioned in comparison to other areas of law, and I would love to connect with you if possible. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!!

When traveling you should be charging up to 80% for longevity and efficiency purposes. Charging your car to 100% which you should only do when starting a trip can take close to an hour and almost half that time is charging from 90 to 100%. When you get to a supercharger, charging from 10% to 80% takes 35 minutes and with the planner it doesn't have you charge that long but it will have you charge often. Sounds like you were charging to 100% which will take a long time and is not recommended. FSD still requires you pay attention as if you are driving. That's not a con. FSD is still in trial and development stage. You must learn how EV's, particularly your car works as opposed to gas cars. Those manuals are not in the glove box to take up space. Problem is no one reads them then wonders why the car does what it does not understanding that's how it works.

When you take on a "large minded" perspective of what a lifestyle influencer is- you realize that REAL lifestyle influencing is done "inna real life!"...lol. There IS the virtual/digital concept of lifestyle influencing- which REQUIRES you to exert a certain amount of energy if you were to produce content based on what everyone else is doing... But the TRUTH is- you've BEEN lifestyle influencing. Everything that you ladies do, whether in this format or your daily living(the things you don't publish digitally)- you are influencing. People are watching. When you live a life of light(love, compassion, honesty, loyalty, goodness, generousity- PURPOSE), you are living in a realm that makes you the "salt of the earth." Stay Encouraged. Publish(when inspired). Most importantly, LIVE! Your story is being told and revealed in ways you may not understand - YET. We(supporters) love you. Keep shining. You are breaking "general curses" in the lives of many. Overall, you are the fulfillment of answered prayers of your ancestors. God bless. Corwin.

Thank You! One of my friends/ classmates had a similar inclination after his first year. He did not like the structure of legal practice, amongst other things. He graduated but did not take the bar or pursue a legal position. He's doing great. All of that to say, it seems that it is one of those if you know, you know things.
