Even though I like what you did with the vocal mix, there're some parts of the original song where I prefer Floor's voice "drowned" with the choir, especially the part of "My song it is for mankind, embers to the stars". All voices together sound more spooky 😅 ❤

This mix completely takes away the entire essence of the beautiful song. So much happens in the original; orchestra, choir, bass, guitar, drums, piano and yes, vocals. Now I mainly only hear the vocals, which is honestly disrespectful to the rest. It's an absolute joy to dissect the song and listen to all those beautiful melodies and subtleties (those trumpets are really great!) and you can't do that with this mix. It also no longer sounds bombastic/epic at all. For most people it seems to be mainly about Floor's singing? Maybe it's also because of all those reaction videos about her.

in the original everything is on the backround except the orchestra and the keybords. The drums guitars bass vocals are extremely quiet. The original mixing is a total mess. Its a soundtrack song with Nightwisg as a guest. At least here you can hear the melody of the song. The chorus could have been legendary and its just basic.

Great mix but I still prefer the original. The idea that Floor´s voice is part of the choir (=voices of generations) is grazy, bold and mindblowing.

Oh wow!! I thought the Nightwish Arena channel re-mix was good, but this beats even that one! It's as close to what I personally would've loved the actual mix to sound like. And yes, I know Tuomas meant the official mix to sound the way it did and I'm not disputing his artistic choice at all but...with Floor's voice lifted, this just sounds way better to these ears. Just my opinion and preference of course. I absolutely love this version. I know they won't, but I'd love it if they did a re-mix similar to this one and could somehow include it as a 'bonus' track on the album when it comes out in September....though I'm not holding my breath!

To play the devil's advocate: I don't think the original was poorly mixed. It was just Tuomas trying to balance the extreme presence of Floor's voice with the rest of the band. Anyway, It is Nightwish band, and not Nightwish with a special guest Floor Jansen.

We can hear the band alright, all their previous albums were mixed just fine with no one left aside. In this mix, the vocals (this isn't about Floor but also about the choir she's supposed to be part of) and Kai's drumming were drowned out by synths and instrumentals.

Doesn't matter what Tuomas wanted it to be when there's large consensus that Floors voice (and the choir she's supposed to a part of) is too quiet in the mix and drowned out by synths. Hell, even Kai's drumwork during the instrumental bridge is just barely audible. Just because it was intentional, doesn't mean it was a good idea.
