My dad has AF trains S gauge he started collecting ‘80s’90s. Have to find them again since he shoved them aside for G gauge (long, long story that still goes on today). Never heard of this modular layout. So sad Gilbert died right after. They were the Erector Set people such a huge thing.

Casper didn't deserve to sit in the corner wearing a dunce cap. He didn't deserve to be punished. I feel bad for Casper because he had to wear a dunce cap. All Casper wanted to do was make friends

There's one moment from this cartoon that sticks with me for some reason. In a lot of Casper cartoons, he often saves the friends he makes by stopping a particular foil in the cartoon by approaching them and shouting something to the affect of "Don't hurt my friend!", etc. The same thing happened in the previous short, "There's Good Boos Tonight", the first one to do it, I think. This cartoon does away with that, and instead of saying anything to the dog or hunter, he just glares at the dog with fury in his eyes. Like he wants a friend of course, but this isn't just a cross look, he's looking at that dog with pure contempt for trying to hurt his duck friend, and doesn't care how scared the dog is of him. It's probably the angriest I've ever seen him in his cartoons. I mean after all that it could just be the quality of the print, and a restored volume would reduce the impact his anger appears to convey here, but I can't unsee it, no matter how many copies I come across. Casper, the Friendly Ghost, the guy who becomes upset or tearful when he can't get a friend, suddenly so angry he is beyond words? THAT is a powerful moment.

My father introduced me to her when I was young. I laughed so hard. She's one of the reasons I still appreciate classic comedy today. This generation doesn't have a clue what real comedy is.

Calls to mind the time my Mom had fallen and her recovery put her in an inpatient rehab facility. The list of clothing needed for her stay included "six bras". I went to the lingerie department at Macy's at Lenox Square and a sales lady came up. "My Mom's an inpatient at the Wesley Woods physical therapy, and she needs six bras." "Do you know the size?" "She said 46CC." Half the floor staff and the customers within earshot turned and stared. There were three colors available and I forget what brand was on sale, so I got three of each color. After the transaction the sales lady said "You don't know how many men would be blushing beet-red just walking in with.that request." What was embarrassing," I said, "was how she broke her leg. You see, she was playing bridge at the time..."
