14 years later : just dropped in to say, what a beautiful video. In every way. The ladies voice, the music, the kayak, the lovely presence... & again that kayak❤

What the hell is the "recovery side"? Never heard this expression before.
@BalthazarMyrrh705 ай бұрын
Recovery side (1 year later for anyone interested) is self-explanatory as the side you are aiming toward or saving or recovering yourself to. It is the side that is closest to safety. It would be the side that is closest to the sky & air & surface in the case of a tipped kayak. It is the side in which direction you ultimately are aiming to advance toward. Recovery side is the good side. The safe side. The light side. The dry side. Not to be confused with the submerged side. The drowned side. The in-trouble side. The compromised side. The side that is of little help... The Recovery side is the side that is going to save you. It is your friend. (It is also demonstrated in the kayakless frames in the vid, if you don't trust me. )

You make it look so easy... thank you!
@robertoquinn70473 жыл бұрын
Why not simplify it and just teach flexible body positioning to correspond with simple sculling toward the surface while gently rolling up! Inuit style.
@Master-di4di Жыл бұрын
Greenland roll is Inuit style or pretty close. That's how you got rolling competitions in Iceland or where Inuits rolls.

Im not at the experience level of the rapids i live near but im curious, for my rocky rapids are any rolls better safer/ more dangerous than another in that environment? How do they keep from bashing their faces? Helmets protect the rest, sure. But the face

_Very easy to use and I can carry it all by my self.•••>__allmy.tips/SevylorKayaks?tつt__ It was such a better alternative for me, I can carry a huge 40 lbs kayak my self, but I can carry this pack everywhere. Love it!_

This was wonderful, thank you. You should tag Cetus (and the other boats). I just bought a Cetus and have been looking for videos. I just happened to stumble on this one, it's great!

Amazing, I was the guy you lent the boat too and the owner of the dumb laugh in the video. I was just sorting through some old pictures, and saw that I was wearing some other guy's gear and paddling dry meadow. It brought back such good memories. Also in the photos was a short video with you saying paddlecalifornia.blogspot...so a quick bit of sleuthing brought me here. Thanks again, I am still grateful, 9 years later...Dry meadow without lugging a boat!

It seems so long ago now, but glad it brought back some good memories for you. I haven't been back since. Maybe someday - if I can find someone to carry my boat in for me ;)

There are a few companies that commercially raft that section. Check out Sierra South in Kernville.
