1:43 I am impressed you made it that far with weak Ramza setup. Chameleon Robe does help a bit (3:20 not rubber shoes that block lightning, which hallowed bolt wouldnt care but good idea to try given holy sword 4:00 as you said ignores that element but the AI pretends it does, like how AI Meliadoul enemy can break armor with her defender stolen). Still fun to see self-imposed challenges (no max bravery monks/brawler ninjas, no auto potion/mana shield that would work unlike Counter), and no support ability (defense boost or nuke arcane strength), and no crazy move +2, manafont/mana shield nor teleport (though jump owns wiegraf). Lifefont does help I admit. Ill edit my comment based on what happens. Congrats on the arithmetician challenge; I'd swap jobs (slow summoner too and Mustadio is useless compared to rend speed/weapon or slow) for this and the speed-based Elmdor battle. 2:45 yeah tailwind/yell is helpful since it carries over unlike rend speed with a gun, so is protect if low on JP. 11:34 yeah that's what I assume went wrong in title (13:00 titan went before everyone else except Agrias) given summoner's speed to go increases but not charge time lol just did a midlight's deep vid with a lotta miscues though I won by dumb luck (black mage summoner gets gassed fast with swiftness unable to keep up outside moogle or maybe shiva though heights help). 15:00 I think you might have won (faster) by attrition (item) if you took out the ultima demons first, which Even Mustadio's disable may work.

For this playthrough, I banned myself from doing any optional battles (more specifically, green dot battles), so that I wouldn't simply grind for all the good stuff too easily. You know a lot about this game! That's awesome! You did mention a lot of fantastic strats that definitely would've made this a lot easier! Granted, I did limit myself to how many battles I participate in; I like challenging myself to beating games with limitations for games I've played countless times, like FFT. I hope you enjoyed the video! Thank yo uso much for the comment! :)
@MrVariantАй бұрын
@Poz159 that's fine and creative (ch 2 errands to fast calculator/arithmetician undermine low level challenge). Thanks for the background. Some people solo or do all of one class with no crossover, let alone Nuzlocke to dismiss whoever dies. You can confirm if you want about rubber shoes by not equipping chameleon robe, but I think stasis sword/judgment blade isn't stopped by an ice shield/white robe. Actually, I equipped a sage's ring that absorbs all elements and yeah went through, even with holy excalibur equipped, and even its normal attack. I have no idea how any of this works lol (holy explosion/divine ruination ain't holy, so the game lies like st ajora with germonik scriptures). I see excalibur may not be holy but it boosts and absorbs it.

I can see you're still new to this. don't hesitate in boost a lot, especially in the final lap. you had chances to get more spark, but for some reason avoided the golden bumpers or didn't farm them on sight. but hey, you weren't eliminated, so that's still something.
@Poz159Ай бұрын
Yeah, I've never played an F-Zero game before this xD I'm not particularly great with the controls, and aren't too familiar with the golden bumpers to be honest. I did better than I expected, but I certainly have a long way to go! I hope you still enjoyed otherwise!

Was this a game which you had to try hard when you first played it ? Or could you enjoy it immediatly ? Some old games feel like you have to really work on them to get in to them. Obviously you said in this video that it took you years to figure everything out about this game. But how was your first time play experience?
@Poz1593 ай бұрын
My first playthrough of this game was back in the early 2000's, and I enjoyed the game quite a lot! The first playthrough of this game is quite difficult, and there were many areas where I had great difficulty. Even though I've beaten this game 75+ times (not even hyperbole or exaggeration), I still get a few game overs in this playthough. I remember on my very first playthough unlocking the lancer, and seeing how much damage it did. It blew my mind! Discovering new classes and seeing how abilities can synergize with each other is what got me hooked in this game! My very first console was a Super Nintendo, so I'm definitely a retro gamer at heart; This may make me biased, but I find retro games charming and easy to get into. I've tried for many years to get my Best Friend to play the game, but there definitely is a steep learning curve, along with, well, shoddy graphics compared to what we have today. I love this game's graphical style so much, but it's not for everyone. There are some games I would never really enjoy playing myself, but thouroughly enjoy watching others play, so it's totally okay if that's how it becomes for you with this game! If you do continue to watch my playthough of this game, I hope you enjoy it! :)
@Trashloot3 ай бұрын
Im honestly really interested to see a playthrough of this game. Somebody recommended this game to me but i was super fast underleveled. I then red that you are supposed to hit your own units to get more exp which was so strange to me that i stopped playing. I really want to see if i was just to stupid or if you really have to do crazy stuff in those old games.
@Poz1593 ай бұрын
While you certainly can hit your own units to get exp/job level experience (something I do in my playthough), it's not necessary. Granted, I'm challenging myself by not doing any optional battles (green dots on the map), so attacking my own units to gain exp help in my situation. If you don't like/don't want to attack your own units for exp, you don't have to. You can fight as many optional battles as you want (green dots on the map). Granted, the green dot battles have the enemies' levels match yours, while required battles have specificly locked levels for those enemies. For example, you could get to level 99 from fighting optional battles, but then go to a required battle that would only be around level 12-15-ish by the end of act 1. The early classes in this game are pretty meat-and-potatoes, without too much jank or crazy stuff. Later classes and specific characters can have abilities that make the game super easy if you know what equippable abilities to mix-and-match with. Reaction abilities, Passive abilities, and movement abilities can mesh super will with certain classes. Pairing an assigned class with a secondary class's ability set can create some crazy results (I show some of that off in later episodes). What's most fun for me is mixing-and-matching different classes and abilities and see what crazy concoction I can create for a character. I could talk all day about this game's gameplay, music, story, etc. xD

The trick to open the boxes in the future first, then go to before you open it after you opened it, is so subtle. But it does so much to establish Chrono Trigger's time travel as better than most time travel fiction. The multiverse timeline approach that other time travel media use, including Chrono Cross, is the easy way out; Because you don't have to deal with the "butterfly effect" style consequences. But here, they made an effort to have a linear timeline that stays consistent. that is way harder to write than a multiverse and very fascinating. You can see it in other parts of the game such as the Sun Stone sidequest, when it shows that Marle's existence is tied to Leene's survival, and how the Black Omen can be re-entered from the past.
@Poz1597 ай бұрын
I love how Chrono Trigger deals with time travel! I'm generally not a huge fan of time travel stories as writers tend to use it to bring back dead characters, or as a cheat to get out of a situation, or is otherwise not very engaging. Chrono Trigger does time travel very well, and it feels like messing with the past has an actual impact on the future. Beating the final boss from different timelines, and during different times in the story/game itself, changes how the final cutscenes play out, which is really cool! I always loved that!
