Exposure to underground music often comes from somewhere less underground, whether that is a movie soundtrack or nowadays a video game soundtrack. I got into hardcore punk in 1984 because of the soundtrack from the movie "Repo Man." Black Flag, FEAR, Circle Jerks and Suicidal Tendencies.

One of the great songwriters of our time, but this oddly is not one of his compositions. What amazes me about this version is that if you told me the story, I'd be saying "what a crock of quasi supernatural spaghetti". But when Tom tells this story, it all becomes totally believable. I believe every word he says. I have so much respect for this guy and have been listening to him since 1973 or '74. And if this song makes you tear up, try Kentucky Avenue off his Blue Valentines album ... it was the first song that ever brought tears to my eyes. Waits is SO authentic!

Spoliers for GTA 5: One of my favrotie moments of gaming was my first time playing GTA 5. During ending C, after killing the others before going to Devon Weston, I was Trevor and I was driving and the radio was on Channel X and this song was playing. It was such a cool moment and it punped me up before the storm on Devon Weston's house.
