Bro this is SO underrated I swear. Like this was my first fantasy series I’ve read in elementary school and one of my favorite fantasy series altogether. It’s so nostalgic and just so good❤

Thank you for the relax video, I went into a slump as well with my reading. However I tried the psych thriller and I was in OMG, every 2 or 3 pages. I have to finish it though because i gotta know who this nutcase is and the cover was the reason I bought it, so I do understand.

I finished this book yesterday and popped in for a review. I also liked it very much. I do wonder if it ended the way it did so that the readers can see some of email Leo in themselves. You know, the, " maybe change this or maybe add that and push the Marigold line", etc. If S. Gentill did that on purpose ..wow. If not, well, there is a bit of email Leo in all of us who read it. Great review, I enjoyed your take on the story.

I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on racism in books, and escapism. I am white and grew up in an extremely white setting; I hadn't read any books by Black authors other than the Addy American Girl books all growing up. I have been incorporating non-white authors into my reading life over the past few years and loving it....but I have hit the exact same problem as you. Reading is an escape for me most of the time. I love reading about a hard hitting subject every now and then, but "fun" is the goal for me much of the time with my reading. And it really is hard to find books by POC that aren't focused on abuse, racism and injustice. I have felt really bad about DNFing book after book this year by authors of color because the subject matter was so heavy - and I am currently in the middle of healing from some intense mental health issues and trauma of my own - that I couldn't read them at this point in my life. So hearing you say the same thing made me feel like I'm not alone in that. ❤️

Learning to love yourself and think positive thoughts is definitely a full time job. It’s very hard to retrain your brain, but trust me, it will get easier with age. I think your 20s and 30s are filled with thoughts of what you SHOULD be doing with your life and what you SHOULD look like. At some point you’ll realize that you are who you are and that’s exactly who you are supposed to be. (I’m 51 so I know what I’m talking about😆) Keep that list of things you’re leaving in 2023 somewhere where you can see it everyday! Love your new apartment it seems so spacious!And yes, laundry is such a chore when you have to leave the house to do it and wait around for it to finish. I do not miss those days. Interested to hear your thoughts on The Girl on the Train. I thrifted it at Goodwill several months ago but haven’t read it yet, although I think I saw the movie.
