@Tracy8125813 сағат бұрын
The Trapper isn’t traditional, it’s a modern style created by Case. The Muskrat and the Barlow patterns are much older and more fitting to be called “traditional”.

Question for you..... Do you know if Case's name for their "Rogers Blue" color is a reference to the Rogers Drum company? I just wonder where they get the name Rogers Blue from, and the best I can find is the Rogers Blue Snare Drums from the later half of the 1800's.
@NewAgainKnifeReviews22 сағат бұрын
@@Lunarpreparedness I believe "Rogers Bone" has more to do with the jigging pattern than the color. For instance Case's antique bone knives are called "Rogers antique bone". I really don't know why they call that particular jigging pattern Rogers Bone.

@ I agree. A clip point and a pen blade basically cover the gambit of daily cutting tasks for me. I don’t have much use for a large pen blade like the Canoe has. Side note… I ended up picking up a 032 pattern. I think I mentioned that to you in another video. I’ve been carrying it for a few days and really like it so far. @@bluetoad2001 Do you know if Case got their code "HP" by taking the second letter of each blade name? "sHeepsfoot" for the H. And "sPey" for the P. Hence HP. How often do you polish the bolsters and back springs of your knives, if you don’t mind me asking?
@NewAgainKnifeReviews4 күн бұрын
@@Lunarpreparedness I have 2 ways in which I polish a knife. 1. With a buffer and white compound, which I usually do when I get a knife and usually not after that,(I like my knives extra shiny, I even buff them when they are new). 2. With a drill press with a polishing wheel and Turtle wax chrome polish. I do this whenever I think they are looking dull (which depends on how much I carry them). How about you? What do you use to polish your knives? 👍🏻
@Lunarpreparedness4 күн бұрын
@@NewAgainKnifeReviews interesting. I bet that works really well. The reason I asked was because the red bone trapper was looking extra shiny. Ya know… I guess I’m in the minority, but I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I have a pretty large Case collection and Buck 110/112 collection that I’m pretty diligent about keeping shiny and new looking. I know a lot of guys appreciate the worn-in look, but I really like that shiny-new look.
