curious how this is all legal... extracting kicks from commercial releases. and then using them in commercial releases. how would you or your users who download this pack who then use them for commercial use, not be subject to legal ramifications?
@EchoSoundWorks
@EchoSoundWorks 20 күн бұрын
I didn’t extract them and toss them in the pack. I isolated them so I could see and hear the transient and body of the kick and then remade them using kick 2, serum and uvi falcon.

do a dynamic eq or MB compressor and trigger a side chain to the harmonics of the sub you choose on all the separate layers attack/release of choice - where its not audible but gives you that extra 1-2db of headroom - when coming to mastering you're bass will bump that much harder..psychoacoustic affect ...

Since 1990. 34 years with Logic and its evolution. When Steve Jobs first saw Logic before Apple bought it, he said "Man, that's an ugly looking program". When it was called Creator/Notator on the Atari ST and TOS (the operating system), its MIDI timing was far tighter than even the latest OSX Core MIDI sludge. 8-bit heaven!

I’ve heard that the older midi timing was better, I would love to see it in action

@@EchoSoundWorks •Appreciate you can hear (and feel) the difference in the world of 100% quantization. Its possible if you find someone with a working rig - the Atari, a 8 x 8 MIDI patch-bay, all hardware drum machines/synths/samplers. The only way to get it in the modern world with either outboard or VI's is to print it as audio in Pro Tools, then Beat Detective or Warp audio every track. Just nudging it doesn't work as there is drift throughout the entire song. TO work with the feel of the tracks, check out Numerical Sound's DNA Groove Templates. AVID implemented a very small set of them in Beat Detecive. I have the entire collection which is massive but will give you that elusive groove-characteristic that separates the men from the boys. • Other part of the problem is the mix engine and summing-blocks in these native-programs. 64-bit Pro Tools was supposed to address this and its an improvement. I have always used ProTools TDM/HD/HDX sytems since 1995. I have 32 outs from an Apogee Symphony into 32 channels of API 7800/8200 summing mixer. Analog outboard mixbus:, Manley Massive Passive, API2500 or IGS S-Type bus compressor. Print back into PT through 90's Apogee PSX-100 convertor.

@@EchoSoundWorks Really anything recorded from 1983 until 1993 (until 2000 with hiphop and rap). On the side, I taught Logic back in the day when it was released on the Mac and as a front-end to the first ProTools TDM systems. One of my students, veteran-session keyboardist Paul Griffin, complained about how the Atari captured his feel and the Mac running Logic didn't. I also worked with Wycleff's engineer at the time and did a shoot-out. The MPC2000 is what made it on the album.

Really good update. Main thing is for Apple to get Logic fully optimised on their operating system. Still an ongoing issue. It doesn’t really make sense, how a DAW like Reaper performs a lot better than Logic on Apple’s own platform. I really do hope they get this sorted at some point.

Just want to comment that the quick tip about looking or listening to kicks in terms of their "genre" and also the general tone / frequency of the rest of a song is really helpful. I had a soul song I was working on where I was struggling to find the right kick. Realized my main problem was that my track sounded bright and I was looking for kick to counter the brightness by sounding deep. It ended up working a lot better to use a kick that was a bit brighter and better matched the song.

Hi. I just checked out your video for the first time and I was very impressed with your ideas in this video. You showed me a few things that I never thought about doing in making my own music. One question I have is this : how long or what is the duration for using these Arps in a song. You showed them as examples but, you didn’t show how you used these Arps in a completed song. As wonderful as they sound I was wondering about how much you should use these in a completed song. I didn’t want to use these as overkill in a song. Do you just primarily use these for introductions in the beginning of your songs or what? Can you use these Arps to build a climax in your music. I wish you have show us how you would use these Arps patterns more effectively in an entire song so I could get an idea of how to use them as they appear in a normal song or composition. If you could give me some feedback or give me some other videos to watch with suggestions or recommendations of videos that would show me more about how to use these Arp patterns in an entire song, I would appreciate it very much. I thank you for introducing me to some new ideas and I wish you continued success with all of your future videos and musical endeavors and I also wish you continued success financially as well. Have a wonderful day.

I think you’d just want to make sure your arp doesn’t over stay it’s welcome. Some genres arps happen almost the whole song and others it’s used for verses or break downs. Just trust your ears and if you start to think the arp needs to be changed up to keep your listener engaged then do it 👍
