Theoretically, if you test against DEV/TEST environments you could add products and customers via REST API in a pre-script and then remove them in a post-script

Yes, exactly. You just need to be careful as for this you will need to use api token with wide access rights.

Got you! Lets see what can I share. As we are mostly using Adobe Commerce Cloud, its already coming with native CI/CD process, I cannot give much options I can share. But lets have a look :-)

thanks for sharing your experience and thought direction. I can add one note here, the additional disadvantage of all the non-self-developed modules is support from the module team's end. if the module has a lot of necessary functionality but is really overcomplicated at the same time, sometimes you need advice or good examples of usage and customization, and you might perhaps meet a bottleneck in communication with the support team. Advice could sound like "clean the cache" :D
