Please introduce me an app for designing digital clothes with my phone
@383design8 сағат бұрын
Hi, I don't use apps on my phone to design clothes. However, you should be able to use some of these on your phone since they are iPad friendly.

What courses would you recommend to learn clo3d especially from a curvy fit size perspective? Thanks for the interview, it was great!
@383design6 күн бұрын
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I appreciate you:) And thank you for asking the question. There are several options for courses to learn CLO (including mine:); however, I haven't really seen any that focus on curvy fit. But Demi may have some pointer here for how she she uses it with a curvier form.

How do we convert an artwork into grayscale in illustrator on iPad ?
@devaladramkaran90638 күн бұрын
Do you open the leather file as a tiff? Or just regular image?
@383design7 күн бұрын
Hi thanks for watching and commenting! This is an older video so it actually doesn't matter as much anymore. To do it exactly as the video, it should be saved as a tif (make sure it's converted to a bitmap first; otherwise, you won't be able to color it in Illustrator), and then open it in Illustrator. However, if you have a greyscale image (whether it's a png, jpeg or tif), you can overlay a color and change the blending mode to achieve a similar effect.

Thank you for watching and commenting! Totally understand. Assuming the preference for the tablet is so you can draw with the stylus, but you can always get a tablet to hook up to your computer so you can draw with a stylus. I only mention that option because there are still some features that are only available on the desktop version.

how necessary is it to include the mill information, is it something I am usually given? What if they just supply me with the type of fabric and weight, but no connection to a mill?
@383design29 күн бұрын
@@Sunshine1364 If you’re getting fabric from the manufacturer, it’s not necessary. You would just add “vendor sourced”. If you are getting it from a fabric store, you wouldn’t have that information. You’d just have to leave it blank. However, if you’re creating bulk production (or plan to and this is your first sample), hopefully you are sourcing fabrics from a place that will give you bulk pricing (meaning a price break if you order larger quantities) And if that’s the case, you’re probably talking directly to the fabric mill or you’re working thru an agent, and the agent name would have to suffice for the mill info. The mill info is there so that the manufacturer knows where to get the fabric you want, so whoever it is that they need to contact to get your fabric, that’s the name that should go in the “mill info” spot.

@383designАй бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting and asking the question. He can't call them Pantone because he'd be infringing on their IP, so they're pretty much dupes of Pantone (without saying their Pantone). If you're concerned and you know it's gotta be Pantone, I'd suggest just going ahead and paying for their library so you know you've got the real deal.

Hey, Im a fresh designer. Techsheet is so hard because of the stitch details I should include. Like the yearn details and stitch details. Drawing part and the sample measuring part is fine with me. How do the experienced designers make it. How to expertise TT
@383designАй бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting! Most of my students have problems with the tech pack, but I can guarantee you it does get easier the more you do it! I'm not sure what you mean about the yarn. Unless you're designing sweaters, you really don't need yarn details. For the stitching, that comes with learning and understanding more about construction. Know that as a designer (not a technical designer), you're really only responsible for stitch details on the OUTSIDE of the garment. One way to get better with that is to study your own clothes. Take note of the types of stitches manufacturers use on different types of garments. When in doubt, you can usually refer to something in your own closet. And if you're unsure about a stitch, check the description for a great reference guide for all types of stitches.

Could you please recommend the best tablets or iPads suitable for fashion design work? Which specific brands and models would you suggest?
@383design2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I've only ever used iPad so can't comment on Android. Which one to use really depends on what software you plan to use. If you're going with something like ProCreate, it'll run on pretty much any version of iPad. However, if you want to run the Adobe software, you'll need an iPad that runs OS13.4 or later which is usually any iPad Pro or 5th generation iPad Air. (Make sure you check the actual specs, though, because I feel like when I was upgrading my iPad, there was one that would NOT run the Adobe software.)

What are the best tablet brands for a fashion designer focused on illustration and design, and which specific models would you recommend?
@383design2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I've only ever used iPad so can't comment on Android, but I can say that I've enjoyed the experience of using an ipad to design. Specific models really depends on what kind of software you plan to use. For example, I had an iPad air for a long time and was running ProCreate on it without issue, but when Adobe came out with their software on iPad, I had to upgrade because it wouldn't run on the iPad version I had.

I got an interview to be technical designer/pattern maker. I'm nervous because I have to go through an assessment. What do you think they maybe looking for? Any advice will be greatly appreciated 😊🩷
@383design2 ай бұрын
So sorry I missed this! First off, congratulations on your interview! Hope everything goes well. If you haven't already gone, I hate to not be so definite but sometimes those assesments can run the gamut from them asking you questions about a pattern or a tech pack to making a pattern to analyzing the fit of a garment on a fit model. It really depends on the company. I would suggest looking at the job description and taking note of the skills they ask for. More than likely, those are the skills they'll be focusing on when they do the assessment.

Thanks for watching and commenting! There aren't many classes available right now, but there are plenty of people talking about AI Fashion tools. I've got a few videos here on KZbin, I'm sure there are other content creators who do as well, and I know it's not that sexy, but there are lots of conversations happening on LinkedIn. And what's great about right now is that people are willing to share information because everyone is still experimenting.
