Great to see people get into climbing I love the sport, I couldn't help but notice(hope you take this as light as possible) you climb very square on and I think you could really benefit in the long term trying more side on movements as it will make longer moves like the yellow v3 feel loads easier! I really recommend lattice training for anything climbing related to improve both in strength and especially long term technique goals you should check then out!

René! Been so long. I came across you on LinkedIn and then saw this video. Excellent stuff and great perspective. I always knew you were always talented, but you've come so far since film school and you have so much to celebrate. The shots here look amazing, and I love your take on being more intentional with how we capture the moments around us by using an actual camera. Subscribed and can't wait to see what else you have in store. :) If you have a minute, feel free to check out my channel too. I'm no cinematographer, but my film about the Bell System van might be something you'll enjoy. Cheers!

Great video! whats the output like on the b500 vs the g300 at the boost setting?
@Rene_Arseneau3 күн бұрын
Honestly, the G300 basically becomes a b500, now the only worry is fan noise when the G300 is at max. So if that’s an issue maybe go for the B500, but honestly my pick is the G300, I use it all the time, I love the shape of it and how it works, and how flat it is, it’s a lighter light so you can hang it much easier with its small form factor. But if you don’t want a ballast the b500 is also a good option. Really depends how you use it :) Hope that helped!

Actually the CX100 is the best bang for your money if you run and gun. I can carry 2 or 3 in my camera bag. True there is no bluetooth, but you can get it for 151€ on black friday. They have a bowens adapter. I wish their accesories for than mount where more and cheaper.
@Rene_Arseneau29 күн бұрын
True! But honestly I much prefer the x60 with RGB for more run and gun, I’m working on a video right now about them, and honestly having 2 of them right now really sparked something in me to shoot more with smaller lights. But the down side is they are a bit more pricy.
@nyambe29 күн бұрын
@@Rene_Arseneau Yes x60 is almost 400€ in Europe. The only good thing about the cinepeer line is he price. But that is a huge thing, because some can at least get a foot in the on location lighting game. Thanks

@Rene_Arseneau3 ай бұрын
Haha you should see my other videos, I just get really excited about anything related to filmmaking. So not much of an over exaggeration for me 🤣 but I would disagree with the other videos being average. Some of those have incredible cinematography, and working as a DoP in the industry for 10 years, having shot 5 feature films and shot in over 30 countries, these content creators are producing some insane work 😁 but maybe for another video il try to make one more in line with the first video! Do an SS tier level!

10% practical, 90% editing
@Rene_Arseneau3 ай бұрын
Yes, most of it is in the editing but I would say it’s more like 30% practical and 70% editing. Because a well shot video while keeping transitions in mind will make for a much better edit. You can do a lot with a good editor but when both go hand in hand you get some fantastic results 😁
@maxjm82793 ай бұрын
I just wanna know how to get started making these kinds of insane edits. Truly inspiring, but where to begin! They always say just start, just create. But a good starting point would be helpful, lol. For instance, I don’t even know what id search to figure out how to create these effects, what I’d need to learn to do so
@Rene_Arseneau3 ай бұрын
Well the first tip I would have is start analyzing the videos. When you go frame by frame you can see a lot of how someone does the effects they do. Especially when it comes to transitions, you can look up how to do a specific transition, then practice with it, test it out in different situations and find your own style and keep doing that every time you see a cool effect. You have to walk before you can run, so learn one new technique every week or two weeks and try to master it over a month, and eventually you will build up a catalogue of effects you can do and you will get good at it. For me and my cinematography I worked on that for 10 years and I still have so much to learn haha but don’t give up KZbin is a great place to start!
@jacksonwilliams3453 ай бұрын
As a videographer just starting out, I'm torn between making videos with high level editing like the first and seventh video but also want to create things with a more cinematic/emotional feel like the second and fifth
@Rene_Arseneau3 ай бұрын
Try both, the more you do the better you will get, diversify your portfolio and see what you do best and then focus on that. I realized I was good at shooting fiction projects and commercials, and I sucked at doing documentaries, but over the last 2 years I’ve been forcing myself to learn, and I’m much better at it now. So start now and you won’t regret it, but wait and think for too long and you might miss your opportunity.

What about the B300 vs the G300?
@Rene_Arseneau3 ай бұрын
My personal favourite is the G300, I use it on set all the time now, I like the build design and the fact it has a ballast. So for my use, the G300 is the better choice and I like how small it is. But if you want something smaller with no ballast then the B300 is good also. So if you work alone, B300, if you sometimes work with a team or don't want to use the bluetooth control every single time, then the G300. Hope that helps!

can all the axis be locked at any angle?
@Rene_Arseneau3 ай бұрын
It can only be locked in two angles, one to balance the gimbal and a second spot for storage since it’s a physical lock, so it’s limited to the angle you can lock it in. Hope that answers your question! 😁
