I definitely get it as a curse, and figured it was BS that it was an ancient Chinese curse or saying. After learning that the Story of Toshin from Miami Vice was a fabrication, I lost all faith in cool things I heard on TV.

Why not talk about what the military doctor assigned to attend to Pedro Albizu Campos? Why not talk about the experimentation by introducing cancer cells into Puertorricans? Where there is letters reporting the experiments, including one letter where the military doctor expressed the beauty of the island and his disgust towards Puertorricans. Even proposing the extermination of Puertorricans, and expressing that he had already started this task by killing 8 and introducing cancer cells in many others.

The U.S. still have Puerto Rico as a Colony. Taxation with no representation. The exploitation of workers when in the 40’s agriculture laborers were paid under $0.45 per 12-hour day, while in the rest of U.S. salaries we’re slightly under $1.50 per day. Illegal vaccines experimentations on the Puertorricans. There are so many atrocities the U.S. sanctioned that it’s a shame. What these invaders were thinking, that they will barraged us in our home and what we were supposed to do, throw them flowers to walk upon their killing spree?

The U.S. destroyed a flourishing economy in the island, stop the international reach with the Jones and Foraker Laws. Until today the U.S. steals over $77,000,000,000 every year by controlling the seaports in the island. In the 1980’s we had jobs starting over $20/hr with double pay on Saturday, and triple pay on Sunday producing 98% of pharmaceuticals in the world. Yet the U.S. eliminated the 936 Law, hoping for the companies to return to the mainland, and that’s how China, and other countries started boosting their economies.

Pedro Albizu Campos had always been a nationalist, as well as Luis Muñoz Marin, both fought for Puerto Rico’s independence. The difference was that Muñoz betrayed his country, his people, and his ancestors, long line of independence fighters, as far back as when Puerto Rico was a colony under Spain. If Muñoz would off taken a posture against the U.S. the history in Puerto Rico would off been similar to Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, and many other countries the U.S. have destroyed in order to expand military power.

Luis Muñoz Marín betrayed the island by accepting $150,000 sealing a deal where the U.S. guaranteed his position as governor of the island. Same offer was made to Pedro Albizu Campos, he turned it down.

Puerto Rico’s currency was valued at 1:1, and U.S. devalued the currency by 60%, even when the currency had a higher value of silver in it. Later the U.S. made the currency was made illegal, confiscating all the silver in the island.

A lot of BS, this comments couldn’t be more immaculate. Puertorricans cannot vote period, for anyone running outside the island. I want them to talk about “The Ponce Masacre”, “The Rio Piedras Masacre”, and more. Attacks approved by the Federal Government. “The heroes of a nation, are the terrorists of its opponents”.

What the professor failed to mention was that an agent sat in the inner doorway of the Blair House armed with a machine gun. The USSS works with layers of security, even back in 1950, as they still do currently.

Rabaul and truk weren’t evacuated. Rabaul, when it was cut off, still had 100,000 troops garrisoned there and a majority of its aircraft mechanics. It was simply bypassed and those forces were trapped. Truk entrapped 20 to 30,000 troops.

Looks have nothing to do with it. I like to follow the saying "speak softly and carry a big stick". I keep to myself, and if someone wants to get in my space, then they get to meet my taser and my loud mouth. Just be mindful of yourself and your surroundings, and always be prepared.

I'm an Irishman. And I seen the video being circulated around KZbin called The Irish Slaves ( first slaves brought to America) I have put lots of messages below the video asking for people to show evidence of these numbers! But of course there is no evidence. I have reported the video to KZbin as misinformation but still it hasn't been removed. It now has over 1.7m views. I honestly wouldn't mind if it were true but I dont like people lying about my peoples history

blame the squad ? really? why not hold the democratic party responsible for the damage it has done in the states? Clintons are toxic in rural wisconsin, yet they had a stranglehold on state party funds since coming to power so long ago, rural progressives were ignored and defunded.

I hope the book mentions the Koch brothers. "Fred Koch was no fly-by-night pamphleteer. He spent a generous portion of his later years using his wealth and influence to fight the communism he abhorred. He was an early member of the The John Birch Society's National Council, an advisory group to JBS founder Robert Welch." from the birch society website.

"She has eighty names, thirty addresses,” Reagan warned during his 1976 run for President about a nameless, Cadillac-driving woman who’s conning the social safety net. He added: “She’s got Medicaid, getting food stamps, and she is collecting welfare under each of her names.” In total, Reagan said, “Her tax-free cash income is over $150,000.”

The line is clear in the late great state of wisconsin, laboratory of the Birchers. I grew up on a farm in Sauk County nearly sixty years ago, near Reedsburg home of Grede foundry, nearby Tomah Indian School for Ho Chunk children also founded by Wm Grede. Nearby Richland Center is an oddly militarized town with a Bradley factory. "US out of the UN" was painted on the side of a building for decades , Christian Hate Radio and lots of free newspapers are still ubiquitous in the region. People wonder why wisconsin is so captured by wing nut republicans, blaming voters for being so dumb, so red necked, so racist . I am grateful to Dr. Dallek for telling this story, I hope he will visit us soon.

Whoever first uttered this phrase, be it Chinese or not, had a different meaning to me. If you live in interesting times you will focus on what is going on around you rather than what is really important, the inner world of enlightenment. In that way it is a curse because you aren't focusing on the real nature of life. So, conversely, if you live in un-interesting times you could spend more of your time thinking rather than watching what's going on around you. I subscribed.
