Question, how can the Church of England trace her Bishops back to the Apostles? I understand the Roman Catholics claim, but the Church of England broke away. Did appointed Bishops leave the Roman Catholic church and follow the new church?

Lord woke me up, and I accepted Jesus one year ago. Since the Spirit has been leading me to daily books of prayer and the Episcopalian way... I am in love with daily devotionals, and now this common book of prayers 🙏 thank you. This is now part of my daily meditations

Very clear. We now have a New Zealand prayerbook but this is better.

This takes me back to my childhood. I have always loved the Morning Prayer service from the BCP. However, one tiny point if I may. When you read the gospel, please, please read from the Authorized Version (1611). Thank you again for reading the service and I shall make this a part of my daily life. Yours in Christ.

It's really sad that in so many Churches it is not done this way anymore. I am grateful for having my local still follow it in this manner. Praise be to God 🙏

Almighty God and Father, we confess to you, to one another, and to the whole company of heaven, that we have sinned, through our own fault, in thought, and word, and deed, and in what we have left undone. For the sake of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and by the power of your Holy Spirit, raise us up to serve you in newness of life, to the glory of your Name. Amen. The Lord Almighty grant us a peaceful night and a perfect end. Amen.

Thank you, Vicar…from Conroe, Texas. I am 69 years old. My father took our family to Saint Dunstan’s Episcopal in Houston, Texas, where I was eventually confirmed and baptized. I have a deep appreciation for the older liturgies, and I appreciate your sensitive presentation. I actually pastor a small independent church here. It is not Episcopalian, but I bear so many good things from those early years to our congregation. God bless.

Nice summary. But you need a better microphone. And speak like you're teaching in front of a classroom. The intimate didact approach is okay, but a bit dull. Content was quite good though, so keep it up.

Hi The Spirit speaks, thank you for the blessing. I needed to hear the message of encouragement, endurance and faith. I hope you feel encouraged knowing you have reached out , touched, and helped another through your 'airwaves' ministry. Lovely preaching, i will be back for more. should i pray this everyday or does it change? am new to this, I just came across BCP yesterday.
@stmarkspeterborough4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jorge, I personally pray this each morning, with new readings for each day. There is a lectionary that goes with it and should bring you through the bible in a year. Or you can pray this once a week on Sundays, with a different lectionary, that will get you through the bible in three years.
@stmarkspeterborough4 жыл бұрын
You can find both the prayers and the lectionary here: www.eskimo.com/~lhowell/bcp1662/intro/contents.html I believe

it is sad that ordinands aren't familiar with the bcp, it contains our doctrine and is what makes us fundamentally anglican
@mnd1955 Жыл бұрын
That makes me very sad. The BCP contains all we are as Anglicans. It has been put away like a decrepit old relative; a relic of a time when our Protestant faith was the mainstay of life. It contains the 39 Articles of our Religion which, in these modern times, are treated by some as if Satan himself wrote them. I hope it brings you as much pleasure and joy as it has brought to me over the years. God Bless You.
