Was lucky enough to be living in the Seattle area when he started and through his entire career in Seattle. My fondest memory of all time is when The Mariners played an extra regular season game at the Kingdome to make their first trip to the playoffs. After they won the game in historic fashion, my late son and I, (8 years old at the time) charged onto the field after the game where he ran & slid into 2nd & 3rd base and then we scooped up a little “mound dirt”. My fondest memory of my son & I. Griffey was his favorite player
