I use Systems Expertise, but I think the downsides of the Unstable Injector outweigh its benefits. Especially on a capital ship with hangars (range down by 15%, fighter replacement time up by 25%, and for only a ~15% speed boost) [VERY REDACTED] weapons fit the Odyssey very well. I like using the Rift Cascade Emitter because you can get close to enemies and it deals a lot more damage that way, but I might give the Antimatter SRM a try too. I never really paid attention to it because it's a small weapon. Thank you for the suggestion.

@@Krissssz I tried to use fighters, but it is more profitable to install cheapest of them and act like they dont exist. I m using Auxiliary Thrusters, Unstable Injector and Resistant Flux Conduits on top of mandatory mods. Combat + Industry + low-tier Technology. For weapons: dual plasma + Antimatter SRM (1-2 is alright) and 5 IR pulse lasers. The only problem: it is realy hard to solo Remnant fleets with it. But it is possible to clear all small ships and drop reinforcements against Radiants.

Thank you for the kind words. I think anyone can pilot this ship well. The Odyssey is very forgiving because it can get out of a bad situation very quickly (also, the opposition isn't exactly top of the line here, I couldn't do this if the enemy had multiple Onslaughts) As for the Conquest, it's a different kind of ship entirely. In my experience, the best designs for it are asymmetrical and range-focused because it has very bad shields. For example, you can put anti-shield weapons on one side and anti-armor on the other and switch between them as the enemy overloads (maneuvering jets help a lot with this), while you stay out of their firing range (maneuvering jets help with this too). But it's not a soloing ship, it's better suited to a fire support role. Or you know you could just ram the enemy as I do in the video. That won't work as well as with the Odyssey, but you could split the enemy fleet in two and fire all your weapons at the same time.

Primarily because this is an exploration fleet and I don't like going around hyperspace storms (solar shielding reduces the CR loss of going through storms by 75%) Also the 20% enemy energy damage reduction is very powerful against the [REDACTED]

I tried JRE8 a bit after recording. It helped a lot with saving times but didn't stop the stutter. Thank you for the tip though.

I've found my favorite ship for "advanced" ramming manuevers, the locomotive & locomotive LP from H.M.I. A orbital station turned into a ship with lotsa guns and hull, means you can pump the hull up to high heaven. Then it's version of a burn drive helps with ramming even more. The LP version especially as it has safety overrides

Thank you for the tip. Yes, I have 6 GB of RAM allocated (out of 16). I'm playing on Linux with an R7 260x 2GB (waiting for GPU prices to drop) with experimental drivers (AMDGPU instead of radeon). VRAM is always just below maxed out, so it's probably that. Or it could be that the game doesn't run well on Linux with older GPUs.

This is the opposite of how i play, if you put a personality on my character it'd read "noncombatant". My flagship is Atlas Superfreighter, and the actual fighting is done by my offcers.

Is it really that good tho? Because he overloaded a bunch of enemies but didn't kill them, despite being able to. So they just recovered and attacked again And he still lost a lot of ships

There's a Mora in the fleet, but a Heron (or better yet, a few Drovers) would probably be the better choice for this kind of exploration fleet. Moras tend to struggle to keep up with anything that isn't another brick.
