There are very few funny Republicans (not that Norm was Republican, but his views were politicially aligned), but Norm was always hilarious.

One of the other nuances: most of the buying is done with borrowed money. “Margin call” means “pay back all your borrowed money, right now.” That’s what bankrupts the Duke brothers.

It's my understanding that Norm told this joke completely ad lib because the show's producer needed him to fill a few minutes at the end of the show. So, Norm just told this joke off the cuff.

It was like losing a brother, I was devastated I’d been saying to my wife ‘Sean doesn’t look or sound right’ for months. I always saw him as a kindred spirit his skit on “Nan, now that’s what I call music” had me in tears especially the ‘Maud’ reference. ( it was a reference the the song come into the garden Maud ) my grandma thought very risky.

I have read a lot of comments, and different strokes for different folks. If it’s not funny to you then it’s not funny. Yes this is an old joke from the 30’s, and yes the joke is just meh by today’s standards. The genius comes in when Norm takes the set up for an old joke, and turns that into the punch line. On occasion Norm would try and reverse the old set up then punchline standard, and go with the old punchline set up joke. He also occasionally when with the strange the set up and the punch line are the exact same thing shake up.

And he wrote this when he was 15!!!!!

His last part about Weinstein was priceless. He called out all the bullshit and told them what he thought of them. Tom Hanks looks like he's worried what Ricky knows about him - squirming in his seat. I love that DeNiro, Scorcese and DiCaprio laughed and enjoyed themselves. The bit about making a political speech is so true. Usually they get up there and bang on for half and hour about crap no one cares about. He was so on the mark with this.

When ever I recomend Norms humor to someone I have them start with my two favorite bits , #1 Teachers are the real heroes #2 Germany is the country he really fears. Ive heard them many times and still laugh at em.
