I’m wondering why I haven’t really seen players implement this. I feel like there are a lot of skilled people who could eventually do this consistently. 🤔

I just made another comment earlier, but I went and practiced and learned a lot. Massive braindump incoming. After 40 min of practice, I got a couple at 80% game speed in bakkesmod. But I think I get it now and want to brain dump my notes in case it helps anyone. First off this mechanic is similar to zapdash and curvedash in a way, so if you've learned those already that may help. The first jump input is basically a curvedash, but going up the wall. The timing is important. If you're too early, the wall eats your jump. If you're too late, you'll just get a full jump off the wall. The goal is to get the timing so that your front two wheels pop off the wall like you're doing a wheelie. If you're slightly too late, you'll get a big wheelie where the front wheels come way off the wall. This isn't ideal because you need your front wheels to get back to the wall for you to secure the reset, and this will be slower or your wheels might not come back properly especially when you factor in the touch on the ball adding recoil to your car. You want to get a small wheelie, there's a sweet spot for the timing. Going slower up the wall will definitely make this easier until you get the timing down. Potentially driving at more vertical angle like you said could also make the timing window more forgiving, as I think a normal curvedash also works this way (not 100% sure). I am not totally sure if you HAVE to hold jump like you say, I think you can get the wheelie effect without it. But it may make the timing more strict. If you've already experimented/tested this I'd love to know. The reason you hold UP on the stick is to point your nose back down IMMEDIATELY as soon as the wheelie happens, to get your front wheels back onto the wall ASAP. You're basically pre-entering the input, similar to pre-inputting down for a fast aerial. As your car's front two wheels are coming back down (from your up input), you can let go of jump, and get ready to side flip. To clarify, you only need to press jump ONE more time to get the side flip, you're not pressing it twice here to jump and then flip like on the ground. The whole mechanic is two jump inputs, not three. Just wanted to clear that up for people. You don't need to mash. I am not fully confident on this, but I think the key for the sideflip timing is to press your flip input right *before* all your wheels touch the ground. This will trigger a sideflip just like on a zapdash or curvedash, which will push you into the wall, getting all 4 wheels to touch briefly for the reset. The fixed momentum of the sideflip will propel your car to bounce off the wall, which ends up looking similar to a normal jump input. But you should hear the side flip SOUND if you did it right. As you said in the video, if you're early on the timing, you'll get the sideflip, but your wheels never reset properly so you'll just flip off the wall and have to recover midair to salvage the play. If you're late, your wheels will have come back to the wall fully, reseting your jump timer, but since your car isn't technically in the air anymore, you won't get a flip at all. You'll just land on the wall and jump off. As you say this isn't really a bad outcome as you can just go for any vanilla aerial play. The timing can be strange because the wheelie you get isn't always consistently the same height, kind of like a zapdash's wheelie. Also the touch on the ball can affect things too. One other factor to consider is your car's visual wheels ARE not the same as the hitbox's wheels. They do not always line up, and Rocket League has some sort of suspension system when your car lands which leads to many of these mechanics. The visual wheels on the 3d model do not move as much as the hitbox's wheels do from the suspension. If you have bakkesmod you can use a plugin to see your hitbox in training, or you can watch Rocket Science's videos about this stuff to try and understand. I actually haven't tried, but this could help with the timing I am still not completely sure if air roll is necessary here to get the reset, or if you included it simply to re-align your car. I think the sideflip alone gets the reset, so technically you could omit the air roll. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Hopefully writing this essay will help someone else understand this. Now I gotta go get some more reps in, before my addy wears off. Also I only watched this video and one other older one, and then practiced for less than an hour. So take all this with a grain of salt, I could be wrong on some or all of this. EDIT: 20 min later I've hit a few at 100% game speed in freeplay poggers. The only thing I want to add is I might be wrong about the big wheelie, it might actually be a good thing as it could make the timing window easier. Also if you hit the ball during the wheelie it could push your car's front wheels back down faster. This might mess up your timing, but it's possible you can find a way to use it to get a more consistent faster timing. If you hit the ball with the underside of your front wheels though it'll definitely mess you up. Kinda unclear on all this for now tbh. Needs more testing and practice, but this mech is definitely viable, especially if my C3 ass can learn it.

Is the air roll necessary to get your wheels to bounce off the wall and secure the reset? Or you just included it to straighten your car out in the air to follow the ball? Also if you do this correctly will you hear the flip sound effect when coming off the wall? Great work on this! btw I'm also DAR on right stick gang

1. Use neutral air roll and but the stick in the bottom right 2. Wave dash forward 3. Wave dash backwards It will take 5-10 min until you get the timing right

I have some Questions: You say "immediately after directional air roll the opposite way", does this mean that if somebody was practicing this mechanic that they would have to know/learn both directional air rolls & will this mechanic work if the persons directional air rolls are not on stick inputs?
